Before booking a room here just make sure you know what you are getting into! In order to get to our room (bungalows), we literally had to climb 93 steep concrete steps in the dark!! My travel mates were carrying 65 pound backpacks!! Once we got to our rooms, we had to go back down to get food and to... More

Manuel Antonio has a host of good hotels, but few are right on the water. To get to the beach, clients at most places have a five to ten minute walk...or a shuttle ,if they're lucky. However,we just revisited the Karahe after a few years absence and were pleasantly surprised to find that they now boast thirty brand new rooms which are... More

Stayed over holiday weekend and to my surprise the hotel had the best BeachFront! Great For familys. The Peruvian restaurant was another surprise. True to its core. Fresh and delicious. They need moré lounge chairs on the beach but i heard it was in the works.

This place is great! You have two options on where to stay so keep this in mind when choosing...the villas on the "hill side" are a pretty steep hike up. Especially the ones at the very top. If you choose to book these you should ask for a lower one unless you are able to climb pretty far up concrete... More

After a few nights at budget-minded Hotel Villa Teca, we wanted a hotel closer to the beach and maybe a little more upscale property (it was 3x the cost of the Villa Teca). It is on the beach, very near the entrance to Manuel Antonio Park. The restaurant is located closest to the beach and the guest rooms are actually... More

This is a nice hotel, but the rooms are pretty spartan. No phones, clocks, coffee makers, etc. in the top floor rooms (there are fridges and safes). Laundry service is quick and cheap. But not much else is very cheap. The meals were fine, but we felt we were paying a premium price for a decent meal - easy to... More

I've stayed here 7 times in 25 years. I'm old (52). This Hotel is clean, it books great tours, there's Monkeys everyday. Right on the beach, and close to MA Park. I love the breakfasts. Stay here and eat 2 meals (dinners) at the Mariposa. Cheap clean hotel, yet, great dinners elsewhere.

We stayed two nights in the best bungalow in the top of the hill. Lot of stairs, but we knew about it. Beautiful garden with lizards! The hotel is very close to the beautiful beach and to the national park Manuel Antonio. Rooms are nice and clean, breakfast easy, but good, pool is small, but nice. The staff is very... More

I stayed one night in a hillside bungalow. It wasn't very up to date, but I wasnt there for the room! The amount of wildlife at your door is amazing. The place is lousy with lizards! I had a great ceviche dinner. Altho once I hit Quepos I had better ceviche for ALOT less money. You pay tourist resort prices... More

Stayed here with a high school group. The Good: Amazing beach front location. Lovely long unspoiled beach. Short walk to town of Manuel Antonio. Nice pool and the lower hotel building is surrounded by nice grounds. Very quiet. The not so good: The upper building is a bit tired and noisy being right on the highway. The rooms in both... More
