Pick another hotel. Ants all over the bathroom, tub had bondo and mold all around. Vanity was held together with bondo. Did not always have hot water, and that water was COLD! Bath towels and shower curtain appeared to be new and were fine. Bed was hard, bedding thread bare yet might have been clean, too yellow to know. Pillows... More

We spent 3 very relaxing nights here between Christmas and new year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful, on the first night we found that we had an infestation of large ants in the night, we informed reception and we were immediately moved to a room on an upper floor. Views from the rooms across the... More

Average Hotel Over Priced Room. I paid over $200 for a 1 night stay. I expected higher end accommodations. The receptionist was pleasant. The food was average, the room was average, the property and pool were lovely. There were 2 of us staying there and there were 2 towels in the room. When I asked the cleaning woman for 2 extra towels... More

Every one states that rooms are not worth spending any time in. That is correct but one has to sleep in the room not on the beach. The standard rooms 101, 102, 103.... are right on the road and I could not sleep due to the traffic noise. Since the place is on a hill the motorcycles & trucks are... More

We went to the Karahe Hotel on the recommendation of a local Costa Rican and were pleased with the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the property. The rooms are nothing special, but are clean and comfortable. I loved being able to walk from my room to the beach each morning. If you are also an early morning walker, make sure... More

There are a lot of hotels to stay at that are on the beach in Manuel Antonio, but I bet none are as "on the beach" as the Karahe. If you want easy, immediate beach access, this is where you want to stay. The price will reflect that too: this was the most expensive stay in Costa Rica. Don't expect... More

Room is overpriced and out of date, when you pay that amount of money you expect a clean bathroom but the curtain had mould and the showerhead is not worth mentioning. Pros - Good location, good view if you live in room# 6,7,8, nice helpful staff Cons - Rooms are average. They really need to upgrade the rooms, Bathrooms are very much average. Wish they had a coffee machine in the room. If you don't care much about the rooms then it is definitely a good hotel to stay.

Paradise Found & Affordable! This was my 3rd stay at the Karahe and was able to make it a 3 week dream vacation. First room smelled like mildew so we paid extra for a "premium" third floor room. It was nicer- clean and spacious. Always had hot water here, can't say the same for wifi. That seemed to fluctuate a lot. You are pretty much paying for convenient access to a less crowded area of beach, so if you are ok with that,... More
