Traveled here after viewing Carara National Park. Went to Manuel Antonio the next day. Spent the night here on July 4th this year.Saw white faced capuchin monkeys and basilisk lizards running across the water in the streams on the hotel grounds. Could hear howler monkeys in the early morning. Good exercise taking the luggage on the many stairs getting to... More

It has lot of veggetacion and even a small creek runs trhough the grounds of the hotel, we were able to see, monkeys, iguanas and slots from the pool . Breakfast... More

Stayed over the weekend with my husband. The place is older but clean and does the job. As most properties in the area, be ready to walk many steps, these are small buidings scattered into a steep forest hill, so its not optional. Byblos feels cozy and we enjoyed afternoons in our bungalow balcony very much. The pool looked nice... More

Really enjoyed the weekend at Byblos. It is a beautiful property on a mountain terrain, just a few minutes drive to the national park and beaches. Our room was very clean, the service at check-in and the restaurant was prompt and friendly. Food at the poolside restaurant decent. If only parents would keep their children from splashing those trying to... More

We are a family of five with three teenagers ,all well dressed and looking to have a nice dinner for the evening. We show up to the restaurant ,and not a soul is in the place and they turn us away saying they have a lot of booked customers coming soon? That was around 7 pm. We go next door... More

Summary: the actual status of the facilities is so different from the pictures of the internet. Bad experience with the service, as a national tourist the service was so bad in the sense of hospitality. the guy of the reception refuses to handle our luggage and the attention fo bad. Regarding the relation between price and service, facilities, room quality,... More

To start, we didn't stay here by choice, it was through Gate 1 Promotions. As previous posters have mentioned, yes there A LOT of stairs, and there's really no way around them. If you have anyone in your family who has difficulty with stairs I would definitely not come here. We are both active people and it was exhausting at... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. We loved the location--walking distance to all the restaurants in town and about a 5 minute walk to the public bus to Manuel Antonio National Park (takes about 10 minutes, costs 320 colones per person). Our room was very large and our server at breakfast showed us the... More

We only experienced the bar at Byblos. Well drinks for free on Friday night for Ladies!.... Reminded me of college days. It was a nice stop during our night. We ran into a lot of friends from our week in the country. Bartenders were friendly.

You will definitely get your exercise climbing the many stairs at this hotel. The casino was closed while we were better. The pool area is by the restaurant. If you can get a cabin, do so. Less stairs to climb. Breakfast was included with our stay. There are some good restaurants within walking distance. The staff are nice. This is... More
