This is not a bad hotel what's so ever. I read that the rooms were unclean and that there were lots of bugs so I was really worried until I got there. The room was clean and we didn't see a single bug in the room. Not one. The service was decent, not the best we received in Costa Rica... More

Overall fair, would not use again. Everything here was worn out. Kitchen appliances, towels, hardware were all dated and very worn. The hotel gardens and the rooms on the outside are gorgeous however the inside of them (even we were staying on a suite) looks like a different hotel. To make it worse a huge roach was inside the room... More

I booked this hotel during Easter week. The experience was great! It was well above my preliminary expectations. I read some previous reviews before my arrival that made me had seconds thoughts... but it turned to be a great experience among friends. (+) clean room (extra points!), (++) excellent food at El Gato restaurant, (+) mirror at the entrance (nice!),... More

locations is great, the price was fine. BUT, in our room there weren't any hot water, the telephone stopped working so I had to walk while it was raining to the reception, to let them know there are no hot water. they couldn't fix it so they gave us a key to another room... to use there the bath. And... More

The outside of the Hotel Casitas Eclipse was gorgeous, with beautiful grounds. Based on the Trip Advisor reviews I had read before staying here, however, I knew not to get my hopes up. I'm glad I didn't. Pros: Lots of animals and birds on the grounds - white-faced monkeys, agouti, toucans, iguanas, walking sticks, and sloths. Nice swimming pools (the... More

I've read some of the reviews and have been a little puzzled. Granted we rented one of the villa's on the property that was privately owned called the Villa Titi but it's on the same grounds and has use of the pools, room cleaning, etc. The lady at the front desk was very helpful (quick traveling tip--try speaking spanish even... This was our second stop on our Groupon deal. Our first hotel seemed better maintained and newer so I felt some letdown when we first got into our room. I got over it pretty quickly when I just let myself enjoy being in the middle of the rain forest. Our room was very spacious with a small kitchen. We had... More

Before getting into this review, I would like to preface it by mentioning it that it was the result of a Groupon "Trifecta" trip to Costa Rica. Therefore you will need to know that my journey does not end here but also at two other, completely different locations at this Central America location. The organizer of the Groupon deal was... Reception staff were wonderful! They changed my room after first night to accommodate my need for fewer steps to/from room/front entrance. They helped me with tour planning and modifying. They gave me info about the bus routes. The place is not high end but is comfortable, with functioning AC and in a lovely setting. It's also near bus stops to... More

Convenient location near bus stop, Restaurants. Taxi to grocery store. Beautiful landscape. No shade trees or umbrellas around pool. They don't use much or any chlorine in pools. Apartment 114 Had older appliances, all electric. Air conditioning was good. Beds were comfortable. Floors pretty dirty! Stark old furnishing closer to European standard not USA. Hot water was plentiful for showers... More
