We arrived at Hotel San Bada and were promptly greeted by Christian at the front desk. He was so polite, well spoken and friendly. He went above and beyond to accommodate any excursion or request we made. Our first impression from the hotel (in the evening) was how lovely it looked! Well lit with clean grounds. The pool was a... We traveled to Costa Rica in early March, 2015. Our experience at Hotel San Bada and the Congo Restaurant was pleasant from start to end. We arrived two days earlier than scheduled, and were greeted by name and given superior service from that moment on. Our travel arranger, Patrick Hewitt of Costa Rica Travel Exchange (I also highly recommend his... More

The entire staff at the San Bada was wonderful, in particular, Christian, Jeffrey and Mykel (sp?). I went with my 2 girlfriends, we are all in our mid twenties and were by far the youngest people there by 30 years, but regardless of this we had a fantastic time. The beds were comfortable, the room was implacably clean, the happy hour... The San Bada is only about 5 years old, so everything is in pretty good shape. We're used to staying in 5-star hotels (and came to the San Bada from one), and we were disappointed in the lack of customer service upon arrival. The employee behind the desk seemed like someone you would see at a Motel 6. He just... More

The San Bada was a whole different experience from the other hotels we stayed in during our 9 day Carvan Tour. We started off with drinks during Happy Hour which were delicious. The rooms were spacious with a balcony where you could go to hear the Howler monkeys in the woods nearby. The furnishings were older and the bathroom sink... More

What makes this hotel special is its location. It’s located right at the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park, so it can’t get any better than that. It’s also walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is an older hotel, but well maintained. From the rooftop bar, you can enjoy a spectacular sunset while sipping a drink. The hotel has... More

My friend and I stayed there as part of a Caravan Tour. One of my favourite memories of the trip is watching the sunset from the rooftop bar. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable although everything below the 5th floor only has a view of the trees. Large shower with lots of hot water. The location couldn't better -... More

An interesting hotel, with a very Spanish feel to it. Awesome sunset views from top deck (where a swimming pool and bar is located). There is also a larger pool on the grounds, which has a VERY fast waterslide (be careful!). Rooms were comfortable.

Located next to Manuel Antonio Park this hotel is nice. The hotel has a nice pool area with a slide and souvenir shop. If your looking for local souveniers they are just a short walk away along with the beach. I had a balcony room, but the view from my room was not very pretty. I had just trees however... More

My dad and I stayed here for our last three nights in Costa Rica. The hotel is a couple yards from the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park, a three minute walk to the beach, four minutes from the restaurants and the road to the hotel is lined with street vendors. From check in to check out the staff was... More
