Very nice rooms and facilities, 6th floor outdoor lounge for excellent viewing of sunset over the sea, great meal service, shopping next door and nearby, great value in the heart of a beach and wildlife forest. Definitely the place to stay in this area.

We also stayed here with a Caravan tour. Location is great, just outside Manuel Antonio National Park and a short walk from the public beach and some shopping. So it's got something for everyone. The rooftop pool and bar area for sunset viewing is probably it's best feature - don't miss it. The downstairs pool was also nice, and the... More

The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The staff was exceptionally helpful in all matters from booking tours to providing a needed refrigerator. The breakfasts were fabulous. Eating dinner poolside was a highlight while listening to howler monkeys and watching iguanas who reside in the neighboring Manuel Antonio National Park. We highly recommend it.

We just got back from a week long trip in Manuel Antonio. We stayed the entire week at Hotel San Bada. The hotel was excellent! The minute we walked in, we were welcomed by staff. They were extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. The hotel is super clean. We had a... More

We stayed at this hotel on our escorted tour with Caravan. It was located right at the entrance to the Manuel Antonio National Park. The hotel was super clean. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The meals at the restaurant were good - no complaints. Even though you are right in the... More

This place would be bad if it wasn't so expensive. But, for the price, it was awful. I can't believe I allowed the many reviews on this very site to encourage me to pay such a huge premium for such an awful place. Very dated. Terrible bed, noisy and uncomfortable. The breakfast was even worse. The hot food was cold... More

Location is perfect next to the park. The hotel arranged to have us picked up at San Jose airport and returned to a hotel in San Jose and our driver, Shaggy, was wonderful. We ate dinner there one night and I had two appetizers, almost raw tuna that was as good as any I've ever had, and a tasty gazpacho.... More

You have close to 20 options within the 1/4 mile drive into the park. You can pick economy, backpacker and up to a medium range. This is not a true luxury property. However you can find cleanliness and comfort. San Bada met my expectations. They try hard, and while it is Costa Rica, luxury isn't yet in their sights, and... More

I confess, I typically stay in much more luxury type hotels,(which San Bada is not) but it was clean, had good a/c, exceptionally close to entrance to Manuel Antonio, good pool, great sunset view from 6th floor rooftop (adult only) easy access to be beach. The staff tried hard to please and overall our visit was nice. I would say... More
