Our family of 4 stayed in July, 2015. We loved our stay with the Hotel Plaza Yara. Our room was very spacious and clean, at least twice the size of a normal hotel room. We had a room with 2 twin beds and a separate sleeping area for us. The bathroom was huge. But what we enjoyed most was the... More

This lovely little hotel is incredibly good value, much less expensive than the other luxury hotels in the area, presumably because it isn't right on the ocean and has just a small swimming pool (with jacuzzi). Having fallen in love with it several months ago on Tripadvisor, we found it perfect. There are bus stops in both directions just a... More

This is a small boutique hotel, there are 12 rooms so I don't think it ever gets overcrowded. The rooms are proper suites, with a kitchenette included and finished to a high standard. I was v impressed with the huge size and the modern finish to our suite. We were greeted v warmly by Javier, who settled us in and... More

We just stayed at Plaza Yara last week on our first trip to Costa Rica. The hotel and area set the tone for the whole trip. The staff (Especially Jonathan and Javier) were absolutely wonderful and did they're job with great care and professionalism. They provided helpful tips for every place we went, set up any excursions we were doing... More

We had Suite number 12 which has a private outdoor breakfast area and direct access to the pool and jacuzzi. All of this faced the beautiful rainforest. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Javier, Jonathan and Nelson all served us very well. The breakfast (included) had about 5 options ranging from yogurt and fresh fruits to omelettes, something for... More

My daughter and I stayed three nights in the Plaza Yara. It was clean and comfortable. The wifi worked well, aside from the storms. The staff, especially Jonathan, was so attentive, warm and friendly. Jonathan even called the breakfast staff the night before we left to make sure they made a to-go plate for us, how sweet! We will definitely... More

We stayed a single night here. the place is nice and fancy. It was worth the price. The facility does stand apart for those wanting a fancy post-modern hotel. However, we wanted the costa rican experience, and this felt artificial. Most folks will probably really like it though.

Dear Brad, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of you stay at Hotel Plaza Yara. We appreciate the compliments and you are correct that most of our guests really enjoy their stay. Friendly staff, beautiful location and nice Spacious rooms with a safe, AC, & small refrigerator. Took the bus to the beach, which is about a 7 minute ride and the only downfall to Plaza Yara. No elevators. Nice Art gallery in office with items for sale

Super clean, affordable are really nice! No ocean views, but the ambiance of the place in general is calming and pleasant. Your room will have a view of the jungle and maybe the small pool. The monkeys will swing from the chandeliers in the morning on the back deck. The rooms are something special. Really big and clean. The rooms... More
