We stayed here 6 nights and loved it. The room is HUGE and very modern and clean. We had a nice sitting area and a kitchenette. We also had a lovely patio that overlooked the pool. You look out on a jungle setting. I was looking forward to seeing monkey but only saw a squirrel but he was cute:-) Mariel... More

We spent three nights at Plaza Yara. Loved the modern, large, clean rooms. Easy to catch the bus to the park or other parts of town. The young man with the glasses who works the front desk in the evenings was very friendly and helpful, answering our many, many questions and setting up a great rafting tour for us. Would... More

My middle age partents and I stayed at this hotel in December 2012. I was not sure what to expect when I booked this hotel but I was very pleasantly surprised. We got a very large, nicely furnished room that opened up to the pool in the back. It really felt like the pool was our private pool. It is... More

Just spent three days at Plaza Yara and cannot speak highly enough of it. Friendly welcoming staff who wanted to explain everything about the room, vast room, very friendly hotel pets (the dog slept in our room for a while one night which was 100% pleasing!) and all at a really decent price. Greatly exceeded expectations. Small downsides - the... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Plaza Yara in May of 2014 and we had a wonderful time. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very clean. The hotel staff was amazingly helpful and gave us advice on great restaurants in town and helped us figure out what we should do in the area for fun. The hotel... More

This place has a real boutique feel. It has huge, spotless rooms with a small kitchen and very modern bathroom, good breakfast and efficient and friendly service throughout. This place is clearly well run and has built a deservedly good reputation over the years. The only downside for me was the location. It's on the road between Quepos and Manuel... More

We returned to Plaza Yara this month after about 2 years since our last stay. It was, if possible, more beautiful, and welcoming than before! The rooms had been redone in gray and white, and the lounge and breakfast room moved and spiffed up. Its hard to believe you can get such quality at this price! Breakfast is included and... More

We have stayed in 4 different hotels in the $70-100 range in Costa Rica and this one was by far the nicest one. The rooms are huge, very clean and decorated like an art gallery. The rain forest is in the back yard. The hotel also has a small pool with a nice and modern deck, Staff is very friendly... More

Our experience was awkward, though I think they had just reopened. There wasn't food. Our bathroom smelled like sewage. The room was pretty and you can watch the monkeys in the morning. It's awkwardly right on the road and you can't walk anywhere.

Dear Patricia Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay at Hotel Plaza Yara. With thousands of reviews on Tripadvisor, Expedia, Booking, Hotels and various other sites we also feel awkward reading and responding to our first two star rating. It is also difficult for us to find a record of your stay with us... More
