Best people in the country. Super generous with the Pura Vida Love. Miles of Smiles with everything anyone could ever ask for in a true CR adventure. They know all the great places, activities, food and fun and know how to share it.

I spent 2 and a half weeks at the surf camp, and it was incredible. We had a 4 person private rancho. When we booked it I was a little worried about the 3 walls, but it was so, so wonderful. I fell asleep under the stars, and woke up with humming birds in front of my bed. The grounds,... More

TripAdvisor hides this place under specialty lodging; was not listed when I looked under hotels. Luckily I discovered it via the sign on the street. I pre-paid at Blue Jay Lounge. Mal Pais Surf Camp, just up the street, became my adopted home base. You can rent boards there, pick them up at any hour (key if you like a... More

Although my husband and I did not stay here, we spoke to the owner, Doug, who allowed us to use his outdoor weightlifting equipment. We explore the spacious grounds, which are lovely with a great pool. They had a restaurant in the middle of the grounds that is a great place to relax and meet people. It has a bar... More

We arrived here after emailing loads of places - we were so lucky that Douglas has some space for us...... We stayed in the rancho style accommodation - open air beds with just netting sides for walls - but don't let this put you off - it's great!!!! Really comfy bed and brilliant high security lockable bins for all you... More

Didn't stay at the camp, but got a surf lesson from Alex who somehow got me up on the board on my first try. The beach he took my wife and me to was amazing both for the water and the views. Not a clock watcher as after the lesson he took us for a walk down the beach and... More

Perfect mix of jungle and surf. Woken up by howler monkeys each morning, just in time to eat really good banana pancakes before surf. The owner and his two sons where very helpful and gave some really good advice for the rest of our trip.Nice and clean cabins. Definitely the place to go if you want beach, surf, great food... More
