If you are going to Costa Rica, Casa Chameleon is the place to stay! This was our second time at the hotel, and I’m happy to report that Casa Chameleon was even better than my husband and I remembered it! Both of the villas that we stayed in on this trip were beautifully decorated and were equipped with everything we... More

After some extensive research via the internet, we chose Casa Chameleon to experience Costa Rica for our first time. Perhaps we are biased, but we typically favor small, boutique resorts as opposed to crowded mega resorts that try to be everything to everybody. With only six villas, Casa Chameleon is able to offer more customized service and just the right... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a bit of a splurge for us, but it was worth it. We drove here from SJO, taking the ferry from Puntarenas. The roads were pretty good until about 15 km to the hotel, then it is dirt roads. It's not really bad, just slow and bumpy. When we arrived, the manager,... More

We stayed here for bit of luxury in the middle of a 4 month trip. And, Casa Chameleon provides this. The rooms have a real wow factor, with private pool, huge bathroom, giant bed etc. Food in the restaurant was very good. The view is cool too. However, the rooms are not finished to the standard you would expect for... More

We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were lovely, breakfast was good and the common areas were very nice. Dinner was also very enjoyable but extremely expensive. However, compared to other places we had stayed in in Costa Rica, this place really seemed to lack warmth. There is an emphasis on giving guests lots of privacy, perhaps that's why the atmosphere... Casa Chameleon was last stop on our trip. Must say this little quiet intimate hotel and mal pais was perfect ending. Everyone is so wonderful from check in to check out. We stayed in the estrella all way at end at 120 steps to get to and would not ask for a better room.Total privacy, views, pool. We were told... More

So the day began with a local fishing trip with the chef, Pabro Sanchez. He led us out from Mal Pais with his captin, Ivan and we caught 9 Skipjacks in about 90 minutes. With that, he invited us to this restaurant where he fit us into a packed schedule and cooked our catch. In a very serene and beautiful... More

Life is wonderful..enjoy it! And what an sublime experience we had at Casa Chameleon. We stayed in Villa Palma, one of the six secluded, hillside villas surrounded by the lush jungle vegetation. The villa itself had eclectic and tasteful decor and furnishings, a plunge pool accessible from the huge rain shower or veranda, and an ipad (or iphone) dock for... More

We were only able to spend one night but it was very nice. Alonso was great to work with as was all the staff. Villa Sol was a perfect villa for the two of us. The lights at night throughout the property added a nice touch to the walkways. I will agree with the other reviews they are spot on.... More

We stayed in 3 places during our stay. Casa chameleon in Mal Pais was by far our favorite. We stayed in the Villa Estrella. Incredible views and infinity pool on your open patio take your breathe away every morning. You also have a private that that prepares your meals every day fresh from what's the catch of the day and... More
