Great Location, best sunsets, excellent atmosphere! They have a perfect concrete miniramp in the backyard. Simon "the Boss" is an awesome host and a very good chef - ask him to make BBQ!!! All i can say highly recommendable and i ´ll come back!!!

Zopilote was my final stop on a month long surf trek down the coast of Nicaragua and Costa Rica. My only complaint is that I didn't have more time there. Its a step up from camping in open air bungalows with the ocean in sight. NOTHING beats walking 100ft to the beach in your pajamas to have a cup of... More

We had great surf and food at the beginning of the rainy season. Simon, the owner, is a great cook. The fresh, traditionally fished tuna was a blast. Surf lessons were in very small groups of 1-4 people and therefore pretty effective. I really liked that you can just grab a board and walk to the spot whenever you like.... More

Fell in love with this place back in 2010 & happy to see that 3 years later it is still a beautiful place that still attracts very nice people. Brought my husband with me this time & stayed in town but visited Zopilote for surf, breakfast & dinner & it's all still as good as I remember.

We just came back from a one week surf package at Zopiliote and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. Simon Stone and his staff offerred all the support required for the guests to focus on the important things of a surf vacation-surf and relaxation. The meals were of excellent quality and the portions were more than... More

We have visited Zopilote Surf Camp just for 1 week and wished to stay much longer! We were surf-beginners and had a 4-day surf-course which was excellent! The surf conditions suite for nearly every level. The main house is an open 2-storey wooden house the furnishing is really basic and simpel, but absolutely sufficient. You can sleep on an open... It was a bit of a journey to get to Zopilote surf camp from Australia but it was definitely worth it. It is paradise. The beach & surroundings are beautiful, the water is warm & clear, there's wildlife everywhere - monkeys, iguanas, crabs, squirrels, even pelicans flying past while you surf. The house has a great set-up, with everything you... More

Other reviews mentioned the camp itself. Was just what I was looking for so just understand it is more of an open camp. Not an air conditioned resort/hotel (humidity and bugs). But the fans and netting sufficed. It is picture perfect what you would expect from this type of setup. Communal area downstairs where you can watch movies, play guitar,... More

Amazing surf trip. Booked a last minute trip, having never been to Costa Rica, and lucked out by staying at Zopilote. Great surf, chill vibe, and great people... made a ton of friends. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an awesome surf trip. Oh and Simon is an amazing cook.

Stayed here for 3 weeks and it was amazing. The place is super chilled, is on a beautiful beach with sweet waves and just is so relaxing. Simon provided excellent meals and really useful surf lessons. The lovely Judith aka Skully made awesome breakfasts. We surfed, relaxed and partied and meet some cool people. Couldn't ask for anything more in... More
