Awful hotel. Poor customer service as the guy in reception is rude. Old TV in the room, you cannot adjust the A/C. Wifi only works in the closer rooms to the reception. We stayed 3 days and we didn't have hot water from the shower on the last day. When we checked out, the guy was speaking on the phone.... More

Much more than expected. After staying in hotels from 5 stars to -1 this was an unexpectedly good stay. Ok there is construction next store, but a short walk to the "strip" and beach made it good. The Aircon works well and what do you do on a holiday in your room that needs the lights on? Yes this is... More

First off, avoid Jaco at all costs. It is dirty, expensive, and unsafe (my backpack with my passport and phone in it were stolen out of our car there). That being said, Blue Palms is still not a nice hotel. The rooms are stale and have a horrible chemical smell, and the ground floor rooms have no windows, so you... More

nothing really good to say.. the desk clerk was kinda rude.. no soap, shampoo and toilet paper. the clerks response was as I asked him for a pint of blood.. and then the girl who came to our room with soap and TP was just down right nasty.. like it was 'too much work: for her to give us these... STILL construction next door...basic rooms, good price. Pool, small but does the job. A little further from the action and beach.....wouldn't want to walk back from a bar to this hotel on my own and I'm not the type to be very nervous.....Would pay a little more next time....

the A/C only works when you're in the room, you have to press a button when you get into the room to turn the electricity on, and our system glitched and turned off in the middle of the night! our window was mysteriously opened at some point in the night, we believe due to the not so ideal location. And... More

Hotel waas very affordable...staff was very helpful finding tours and taxis/rides to arenal as well as a good recommendation for places to stay and things to do...downside...major construction next door , but as one reviewer said I did not come to sleep...noise starts at 630 til 4 pm...I am an early riser so no problem....if you rise early I would... An owner of a hotel in Spain told me that she thought TripAdvisor can be used as a weapon against a fair-minded hotel. I agreed, but also said that for a traveler like me, it is all I have to bargain with when I get an unfair hotel or below-average service. But it is not uncommon in talking to owners... More

I travel frequently in Costa Rica, and never have I stayed in a worse hotel. The website makes it look attractive and describes it as "near" the beach. It is, however, located on one of the noisiest and most unattractive streets in Jaco, right next to a construction site. The reception area is unkempt, small and unpleasant. One must pay... More
