This was one of the best vacation experiences I have ever had. The lush tropical rainforest setting was really great. This is an eco lodge but still with great food and housekeeping. There are different levels of trails you can go on either by yourself or guided. I highly recommend the waterfall tour as long as you are willing and... More

We had a lovely two day stay at Nicuesa with a kayaking group December 16-17, 2014. Our room was Mariposa (butterfly) in the Mango Guesthouse. The room was lovely, surrounded on all sides by the rainforest. From our room we could see animals, like the coati, and hear the howler monkeys. Although the bathroom was en suite, the shower was... Nicuesa Lodge was a week of togetherness, challenge, adventure, health, relaxation, and fun. The Lodge is located in a pristine part of the rainforest, accessible only by boat, which makes it singular in what it can offer. We saw animals, learned first-hand from the friendly and knowledgeable guides about the rainforest and the environs. The staff were readily available but... More

Ditto on all the comments about the wilderness experience and wonderful staff. The isolation made it particularly great. Walked down the 700m beach and was the only one there. Fished off the dock was enjoyed by all. Only thing I can add, and should be expected, are the size of the bugs. The general consensus of the guests is that... More

This is a special place. My family and I stayed here for a week two years ago. We loved it so much, my husband's sister and brother-in-law decided to host their wedding here this month. The lodge and rooms are set within a lush rainforest garden fronting the Golfo Dulce. The only sounds are the animals of the rainforest and... More

We had a great time stating here! The entire time we were treated like family with large family style meals with the other guests, getting to meet and do activities with the staff such as squeezing sugar cane and baking cookies which was fun for the kids. They also taught us how to make a traditional holiday food from Costa... More

I generally don't travel to the same place twice, but we just returned to Playa Nicuesa for the second time to celebrate our wedding with family. It was definitely not a traditional wedding spot, but it was perfect for us. The staff went above and beyond our expectations of "simple" to create something beautiful and tremendously special for us. We... More

My family and I just spent a wonderful six nights at Nicuesa lodge. It was as good or better than advertised. Our secluded cabin in the rain forest is exactly what we were looking for, but we didn't have to give up all the comforts of home either. The food was outstanding (I miss my fresh pineapple and mango slices... More

Great experience. Breathtakingly beautiful location..... The natural beauty of this place is what makes it special. The lodge is completley isolated and cut off from everything which makes this place unique. Only the sounds of the rainforest and the ocean can be heard. The staff are amazing and cater for your every need. The food was delicious, fresh and well... More
