My family and I just spent a wonderful six nights at Nicuesa lodge. It was as good or better than advertised. Our secluded cabin in the rain forest is exactly what we were looking for, but we didn't have to give up all the comforts of home either. The food was outstanding (I miss my fresh pineapple and mango slices... More

Great experience. Breathtakingly beautiful location..... The natural beauty of this place is what makes it special. The lodge is completley isolated and cut off from everything which makes this place unique. Only the sounds of the rainforest and the ocean can be heard. The staff are amazing and cater for your every need. The food was delicious, fresh and well... More

3 girlfriends and I were blessed to visit Playa Nicuesa, located in one of the most "virgin" places left in our beautiful country. We are all ex-pats but have lived in Costa Rica full time for many years. We were here for a 3 night get away, flew Nature Air from San Jose and live in Atenas. The staff was... More

Thank you for your positive, upbeat review! We'll be sure to pass on your kind compliments to our staff. You're right, September is the less crowded season and also the time for Humpback Whales! Since you live in Costa Rica, come back and visit us again soon! More

The minute you land in Puerto Jimenez and take the boat across the magical Golfo Dulce, you'll notice that your stresses melt away. Only to be replaced by the exhilarating anticipation for the 'dock on the bay'. Arriving at Nicuesa, starting with the first sight of the dock on the bay, is the most peaceful, relaxing and inspiring destination that... More

We loved every minute of our week this past March at Nicuesa. I went, single-parenting, with two boys 13 and 15, and they had plenty to do and see. The fresh food was great, the other guests were interesting, the site itself has to be seen to be believed, and the folks who run the place are dedicated and caring.... More

My husband and I had a wonderful 4-night stay at Nicuesa. We loved the hiking trails, the kayaking, and seeming to have the entire Golfo Dulce to ourselves! The food was plentiful and really excellent and we really enjoyed the staff. We found plenty to do without purchasing any of the excursions that Nicuesa offers, including just relaxing by the... Thank you for your great review and really useful travel tips to other future guests! It's true, it is wet in the rainforest, especially at this time of year. Our solar drying room works pretty efficiently and we're happy you were pleased with that service. Relaxing at our lodge is a perfect vacation, and there is so much to do... More

We stayed 4 nights at Nicuesa. From the moment we were picked up at the airstrip until the time of departure we had a fantastic time. As we approached the lodge by boat, we were surrounded by dolphins greeting us. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Even those who did not speak English were keen to point out... More

Wow! What a review! Thank you! Your detailed description and appreciation of all of the wildlife you saw, activities you did, and our staff's service is fantastic. Tell your daughter that we are sorry about the scorpion, but very happy she is all right and has a great adventure story to tell! We welcome you back next year and every... More

Being from busy new york city, it took a a few days to get use to the different sounds at night. The main lodge and my private cabin was beautiful. The mangrove tour and and the waterfall hike was awesome. Wildlife watching can sometimes be difficult, as the animals do hide, however there is the wildlife sanctuary close by where... More

Eco Friendly eco tourism lodge, located across from Puerto Jimenez. Fantastic place, with a tree fort feel. Friendly staff, and a very much at home feeling - in the sense that it is like going to a family cottage. You have the run of the place, and are made to feel like home. (IE if you want a drink when... More

My family spent four nights at Playa Nicuesa - and from the moment we arrived we were captivated. A Coati greeted us as we arrived at the lodge - and throughout our visit, we saw dozens of animals - White faced monkeys, three toed sloths, leaf-cutter ants, golden orb weaver spiders... I went on the briefest of fishing excursions and... More
