This is the second time I have organized a group of like minded Yoginis to this fabulous ' Where Rain forest meets ocean Retreat. The boat ride there and back is a high light. The staff, guides, bar man and chef excellent. Accommodation very special. Some improvements even from our last visit. Food very healthy and plentiful. It's hard to... More

I spent 4 fantastic days at Nicuesa with my 18 yr old daughter and 70+ yr old parents. The rooms were lovely, clean and well kept. The indoor/outdoor touches made you feel part of the surrounding rainforest, indescribably lush and alive. Believe it or not, mosquitos were not a problem at all! The excursions--waterfall hike, mangrove kayak tour--were informative and memorable,... More

Yoga on the platform facing the gulf - the waves serenading us as we practiced, sunset cruises to catch dolphins swimming and the sun set with the mountain and baby clouds in our midst, the monkeys waking us to their sounds in the morning - and of course, the loving staff who provided the delicious and colorful meals each day.... We spent 4 days at Playa Nicuesa in March. It's truly beautiful and wild -- the only approach is by boat from Golfito, and it's located on a pebble beach surrounded by the rainforest. The staff, and especially the guides and yoga teacher were fantastic, and the large table for meals made for great conversations with all of the guests... More

The setting is unbelievable, a pristine rainforest and a lovely pebbled beach. The lodge is simple but elegant, the service personal and caring. The mangrove river tour was spectacular as were the Dolphins. We also highly recommend the waterfall tour. The only areas that could be improved are: more accessible plugs in the bedrooms and a bigger variety of choices... More

Playa Nicuesa can be reached from Golfito by boat only. Friendly staff is very friendly and extremly helpful. We had 3(!) biologists giving PowerPoint lectures each evening and tours during the day. Property is located in secondary growth jungle, well groomed trails, some steep. Don't come for the beach; pebbles, no sand. Food is basic, but tasty. Good Wifi in... More

We are really happy you enjoyed your time at our remote jungle lodge. How fantastic you were able to visit when our touring biologists were there giving presentations! It's true, our beach is pebbles without much soft sand, but isn't the calm and warm Gulf water fantastic! And you can always find really cool rocks and shells. The 2nd story... More

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Playa Nicuesa. The staff upgraded our lodging to the honeymoon package and suite which was beautiful! The food was unbelievable! Everything was harvested from the rainforest and a local farm just a short boat ride away. We kayaked, snorkeled, toured a zip-line canopy, went Deep Sea fishing for Roosters and much more!... More

Wow, this was a very special time. We had never as a family visited anywhere as off the beaten path as this and it was a great experience. I had no idea that we would be having our meals communally and the very basic nature of parts of the property were refreshingly simple and unpretentious. The rainforest was the predominant... More
