The Samoa is a place I will return to. You will not find luxery with fine linens and folks catering to your every need. You will find a clean, convenient and safe stay with a great owner who cares about his place. The wifi is in the lobby/resturant/pool area and is strong. The whole place isn't that large. This is... Clean but dated room. There was no hot water. So if you like a cold shower in the morning, be my guest but that doesn't work for me. When we complained, we were told that there is only 1 gas distributor in CR and that said distributor had not filled the tank in 3 months. I asked why we were... More

The restaurant was awesome, as was the service throughout the hotel. They have a private marina which was very convenient for us and our fishing guide. The rooms were very roomy and clean, but the beds were a little hard for my tastes.

After a long trip from San Jose we were looking forward to some rest before taking off again in the morning. The deep base music of the bar continued late on into the Sunday night (actually until early Monday morning). Luckily we did have earplugs. The room may have been rustically nice at one time but deferred maintenance and poor... More

I stayed here with 2 more people for one night. It's a bit overpriced according to our findings on similar hotels but it's clean. A/C is noisy and the dogs won't stop barking. Food in the restaurant is ok, so you can eat there with no issues. For locals it might be a little overpriced, but still no problem. In... More

The bar is probably the best attribute of the Samoa....the rooms are overpriced and the food is only mediocre at best. There is plenty of shade so it a good place to go for a swim.during the daytime. Later at night evolves into more of a singles bar but beware of hustlers

Located on the main road in Golfito, with ample parking, a large open air restaurant, pool, and spacious comfortable rooms. This hotel is just a little above my normal price point but it was raining cats and dogs when I got to Golfito and the taxi was able to pull up under the large restaurant so I could get my... More

The rooms are clean, the staff is responsive and courteous, and shower has plenty of hot water. This hotel is intended to provide an option for the shoestring budgeter visiting Golfito and it does just that. The restaurant and bar area is much the same - good food, good service, pretty cheap. You're essentially paying a 1-star price for a... More

The view, location and staff are very nice. The rooms are horrible. You can not turn on the fan independently of the lights and the AC works poorly. Finally we unscrewed the lightbulbs so we could have the fan on. Dogs were barking, the walls are so thin you could hear the TV next to us. The room is in... More

This hotel is the best place to stay at this region. The location is beautiful. It faces the sea. There is a nice swimming pool at this hotel which offers a perfect relaxing time while you are here. The environment is completely peaceful. You have a feeling of safety while you are at this serene place. The food is excellent.... More
