This was probably our favorite nature lodge. It is located a good 30 minute boat ride to the inside of the Gulf, where tourism has not really overdeveloped. So after half an hour of only ocean and jungle, you arrive at this silent magical place. You are greeted by the owner in person. We spent 5 days, exploring the many... More

A secret jungle lodge located in an area that has not been polluted by mass tourism. Amazing ocean, rainforest, simply a perfect nature getaway. We can easily recommend. Special for those looking for a lodge away from the touristy and sometimes fake destinations.

The area is less known tan the neighbor Corcovado National Park, which we visited recently. However, equal in wildlife and scenery plus the fact that since it is less touristy, it keeps this authentic charm, a mix of real adventure, non touristy and almost laid back in time a bit. The trip to the lodge itself is a wonderful adventure.... More

This was our second place lodge in Costa Rica and will always remember being so close to nature.. In the middle of the jungle, nice spacious cottages, designed to leave no footprint.. great host, food and very friendly staff.. Tours available with a great guide who knows all about the golfo dulce area, including the golfo dulce frog. Would love... More

Golfo Dulce lodge had all the things we wanted. Situated on the edge of the sea and the edge of the jungle, with beautiful gardens. So many good things : Friendly staff, a warm welcome each evening. Butterflies Jungle noises, Scarlet macaws, birds and animals abound. This lodge is very special. Esther has been devoted to preserving the natural habitat. Her... More

We have just returned from a ten-day stay in Costa Rica, which began with four days at Golfo Dulce Lodge. What a wonderful place! The lodge is remote, so do not choose this destination if you want distractions from nature (or a town bar to walk to after dinner). At Golfo Dulce Lodge you will live in the forest in... More

We stayed at Golfo Dulce Lodge from 10-13/2013. A truly marvelous place for anyone who wants to step out of his cabin and walk around whole day in the forest (both primary and secondary growth). Don't worry about the boat transportation: very well arranged. Food is excellent, home made. Cabins are very spatious, clean, good beds, in a very nice... More

You need to go to Golfito first. The Lodge has no access by road nor air. All boat. We parked the car in GOLFITO and were picked up by the guide and captain. The transfer takes around 30 minutes. The lodge is situated in a remote rainforest next to Piedras Blancas Park. The property has several hundred yards of beachfront.... More

This place is absolutely recommended. Located on the ocean inside a large Gulf, it is the true and real rainforest Experience we had expected. We stayed in a beautiful cottage located under large rainforest trees. We could see tons of birds from our deck. We saw one species of wild boar, the Coati Mundi which we had never seen before,... My husband and I returned last week from a short Costa Rica vacation that included six days at Golfo Dulce Lodge. We do not remember having a more interesting and enjoyable vacation. The fun began at lunch on the first day when a white-crested parrot swooped through the open air dining room to land in the rafters, a mythical-looking basilisk... More
