Our whole family(10 of us)from Canada spent a Christmas vacation in Costa Rica but unfortunately were only able to stay at Rafiki for a couple of days.(they were booked) However the time spent there was awesome. The hospitality of the Boshoff family was wonderful, the luxury safari tents were great but most of all the activities our family participated in,... More

We had the most amazing time at Rafiki last week. Had we known it was going to be so great, we would have gone directly there for the short 4 day-trip we took to CR rather than try to see Arenal (to no avail). Already the lodge is set up to not be overcrowded - they have only about 10... More

I had such an amazing time at Rafiki that I almost don't know where to start. But the best place to begin is probably at the beginning, with the drive from Manuel Antonio -- which is nearby but a world away. The roads are windy and largely unpaved, running through scenic and authentic Costa Rican villages. If you don't have... More

We stayed RAFIKI Wilderness Safari, run by the Boshoff family, for three days, the most fun three days of our long trip. Rafiki is about an hour's drive from Quepos, the nearest town. We arrived around 10am and were welcomed by the manager (Lautjie) who showed us around the camp. We were shown to our tents then settled down to... More

Rafiki Safari is truly peace on earth! If you are headed to Quepos or Manuel Antonio, take the time and visit Rafiki! It is not to be missed and so different from the coast! Situated in a valley with rolling hills, no neighbors, and complete silence, this resort is truly unique. Stay for a night...or 3 like we did and... More

Rafiki Safari is the most beautiful place I have ever been. The special touches the staff gives to their guests' is amazing. I have never been so relaxed and had so much fun in my entire life. And the waterslide with the resident dogs, Howard and Nona, is non stop fun. To the jungle hike, to the white water rafting,... More

We had a short stay at Rafiki in the end of June. If you enjoy off the beaten path experiences, you have to do this!!!!! The luxury tents were very comfortable, the food were good, and our hosts were wonderful. The ultimate safari horseback riding and rafting trip was one of the most enjoyable days I can ever remember having.... More

My Boyfriend and I spent only one night at Rafiki but would have loved to stay longer. We already had paid for other nights at different hotels when we came upon Rafiki in the forums here on trip advisor. We decided that we just HAD to give it a try. From the moment we got there we felt like family.... More

This place was the best. They are completely "dug out" from the effects of Hurricane Rita. The pool and waterslide are wonderful. I can't imagine how lush the landscape must've been before the slide (they lost one building). But Loitje (Low-key) in all his creativeness has made lemonade out of lemons by creating a one-of-a-kind Frisbee golf course where the... More
