Had we known we could have stayed the night we would have. We were in Costa Rica in August 2014. White water rafting with the Rafiki people was fantastic. It is an absolute must do. Our guide Tjuki was the best. We were served breakfast when we arrived, lunch during the excursion and then drinks on the terrace whilst our... More

Really different, fun place. We hiked in and were met with a ride for the last 3k. Loki met us before that when we stopped for lunch at the waterfall, what a knowledgeable person and taught us a lot about the area. We also went rafting the next day and stopped at another waterfall and swim hole, tons of fun.... More

We stayed at Rafiki as part of our Backroads vacation. The lodge was really great. The location is beautiful and there were lots of colorful birds to watch from the deck. Loki and his family were very knowledgeable and Loki was an eloquent advocate for his valley. The accommodations were very nice. The pictures don't really do it justice. The... More

It is a 45 minute drive down dirt roads to get to the lodge, and even the drive there is beautiful. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and surrounded by forest. There are miles of trails on the property, unfortunately we did not have time to explore them. The tents themselves are more like "glamping." Bring headlamps, though as even the... More

We reserved a tent with the idea of disconnecting for 24 hours on a much needed staycation. Mission accomplished. We arrived to Rafiki after a beautiful drive through the rainforest to one of thee most amazing spots in Costa Rica. We were greeted with refreshing welcome drinks and smiles. We gotta say We've traveled pretty extensively through Costa Rica so... More

This is a bit delayed. We flew to Quepos and drove to Rafiki for the front end of a weeks spring break. We are a family of 4, boys 8 and 11. This place was fantastic. Stayed in a platform tent overlooking the pond. Boys loved the pool. The Rafiki family were above and beyond helpful and friendly. Exactly what... More

I thought this was a very cool, authentic place. Accommodations are platform tents with very large modern bathroom/ shower attached. Want to have an authentic experience? Stay here. Loki, the owner, is a naturalist with tons of information to offer. He sustains a small community by hiring locals, so the lodge is really changing lives. Nice white water rafting available.... Loved the lodging. Loved the rafting. And the slide. Whoah! Great adventure stay for my family. My wife and three boys ages 7, 9 and 11 all thought this pace was really cool. A different slice of Costa Rica that you should check out. Thanks Loki and crew for showing my family a great time.

While on vacation in Costa Rica a friend of mine arranged for me to go White Water Rafting at the Rafiki Safari Lodge. I've rafted many locations in the United States and I have to say that this was the best rafting trip that I've ever taken. They have smaller 4 person rafts that are great for the size of... More

We traveled with three children ages 8, 10, and 11. We could not have dreamed of a better experience for three "technology-addicted kids". There is no technology at Rafiki. What? You mean the kids are going to actually interactive all day long with the old folks? That in itself was worth the cost of tuition. :-) The family that runs is... More
