Rafiki Lodge exceeded my expectations. It is surrounded by luxuriant Forests that are alive with bird and animal life. The buildings are of wood and thatch mostly and the accommodations are in unique Tents that are very comfortable to be sure. I loved the food, the heated whirlpool, giant water slide and stunning views all around. I also very much... More

My friends and I did not stay at the hotel but we went on a tour of the property after our rafting trip and were thoroughly impressed by the hydroelectric system and entire thoughtful layout of the property. Go on the water slide and then walk up and take a dip in the wood fired hot tub! Soak in the... More

If you want a real adventure, stay at Rafiki! It is a journey from the airport and you will be set back up high in the jungle away from main road, but what an experience! The family that owns the resort are lovely, and they arrange your day tours seamlessly. They have 10 luxury tents from South Africa set around... More

Everything about Rafiki and the Boshof family who run it is first rate. From our very first email to after our return home, they went beyond expectations to help us plan our trip, even booking our transportation to the lodge and our rental vehicles for our drive up to the northern coast. The ultimate safari package included an exhilarating horseback... More

Our stay at the Rafiki Safari Lodge was fabulous. The owners are really friendly and made us feel at home. The staff were very attentive. The activities (rafting, hiking, horseback riding and swimming) were terrific. The rafting guides were extremely competent, as were the horseback riding guides. The luxury tents took some getting used to. It was hot and muggy... More

We didn't stay at Rafiki but our group went rafting through Rafiki a Safari Tours. Our group consisted of 4 kids (ages 5, 9, 16 and 18) and 4 adults. Our guides were Randol and Kenneth. The trip was fantastic. Breakfast and lunch are included. The guides were friendly, personable and made the trip fun and interesting for all ages.... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights here in June. Lounging on our balcony overlooking lush greenery and listening to the music of forest all the stress of our busy lives melted away. We enjoyed the fresh flowers on our table every meal and the intimate feel of this family run eco-lodge. The views from the lodge are lovely. We... More

We think this is a great spot for couples or families or friends... A long bumpy drive but well worth it, especially if you stay for a few days. The family was amazing, with a beautiful viewing deck to watch birds and have cocktails. There also is a crazy scary water slide. The owner had a darling little boy who... More

Rafiki is an absolutely incredible place to stay for many reasons, the first being location. It is nestled in the Costa Rican mountains about 45 minutes from the coast up a small dirt road. On the way there you drive through some breathtaking scenery and the small village of Santo Domingo, from which many of Rafiki's employees have grown up.... More

What a wonderful stay. We stayed at Rafiki last month with my sister's family. We have 3 kids between us (ages 3, 4 and 5) and the staff could not have been more accommodating! As soon as you arrive your are made to feel like one of the family. The hotel has a main bar and restaurant which is the... More
