We had a very warm welcome. Nice place in a quiet environment, small and clean cabines, helpful staff. Ever organized a guided tour for us and recommanded a very skilled guide ( Castor Thomas Hunter). The kitchen is clean and well equipped. We recommande!

We were there in early June and had an awesome time. We went there primarily to fish & it was literally a fishing trip of a lifetime. We went out 2 days and caught 6 tarpon (had 8 more on line), none under 80lbs, and over 75 Jack Crevalle. Their guide Tony & Dennis were 100% professional & know their... More

As long as you know what you're getting, this is a great place to stay when visiting Tortuguero. This is not a posh lodge; it's a basic bungalow with no hot water, no AC, not even a fan. But, it's set in the jungle across the river from Tortuguero village, which is a blessing for several reasons. The owner, Susan,... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a few days and fished one. The lodging is basic: bed and bathroom. But you don't come here for room service. This place is all about being in the heart of everything the jungle has to offer. Monkeys, sloths, toucans, iguanas... you name it... can appear in the trees right on the property... More

We stayed there for 5 nights in April 2015 with our 2 young kids. In this low key jungle retreat, we saw an incredible variety of wildlife by just hanging out around our house. We took the canoe for a long paddle down the river and saw our first sloth there. The common kitchen is a great place to meet... More

We were welcomed to our spotless cabin surrounded by jungle by Sue, who made us feel at home and almost like we were staying with family. The location of the lodge is just over the river from the main village but we didn't ever have a problem getting a water taxi, and its location meant that we could wander off... More

Small basic cabins in a great location in the jungle, away from the village, with a friendly and helpful host Sue. To get to Toucan&Tarpon you need to take a boat taxi fromTortuguero village, $2 per person. You can hire rubberboots if you decide to go for a walk to the jungle. There is also a canoe. Sue serves breakfast... More

We loved this small, laid back lodge. It's very friendly and relaxed with fantastic wildlife all around - we saw more, and closer, here than any other place in the country. It's great to be across the river from the village and reaching it very quickly by taxi boat was really fun.

Owners Jeff and sue are friendly Canadians with a real carribbean laid back attitude. The tarpon fishing was amazing, but not only that saw sea turtles, daulphins and caught 7 different types of fish. This location very remote and is rugged but so worth it! Thanks Jeff and Sue for the wonderful memories ! Heather and Rick - Canada

This was our first trip to Tortuguera and we were so glad that stumbled on this gem. It is small in size but big on wildlife. We saw more animals (sloths, monkeys, toucans, parrots, snakes and lizards) around our cabin than we saw with our professional guide. To be clear, this is not an "all-inclusive, sit by the pool and... More
