This lodge is set in the jungle, so you are able to view plenty of wildlife. The rooms are actually one room cabins with a small bathroom. There is no air conditioning, only a ceiling fan, which can be uncomfortable on hot evenings. I had an allergic reaction to something in or on the pillows and woke up with an... More

I stayed at Aninga with 2 friends for 2 nights in December 2014. It was really great, we did several trips along the river in shallow bottom boats, seeing monkeys, cayman gators and other wildlife. The tour boats pick you up from the Aninga jetty, it's really convenient :-). The food was communal style, but all very healthy and we... More

Loved being in the jungle. Resort amenities were pretty solid. Liked being just a short boat ride to town and the ocean/beaches. Biggest drawback for me was the lack of air conditioning in the hotel rooms. I'd probably opt for a different resort with a bit more luxury next time. That said, if you're OK going without the 5 star... More

My husband and I stayed here in cabin #8, it was great. Hot water shower, super friendly staff, the food was fine, they made any accommodations that we requested, natural fruit drink upon arrival. We chose this lodge over Pachira; we had elevated walkways, which kept nocturnal creatures away, you can still use all that Pachira has to offer. Pachira's... More

We stayed a couple of nights, it was rainy (as you can expect in rainy forest in July!) but we were able to see the green turtles! Rooms are private, each one is a "mini house" separate from the others, the food is good, the staff very friendly. The included tours were ok. Don't expect television (is the jungle guys,... More

Screened 'treehouse' styled rooms that were clean and comfortable provide the best place to view wildlife. We had sloths, monkeys and huge iguana in the trees right outside our rooms. Food at this lodge is good too. Not fancy, but a great way to experience the jungle

Lodge consisting of a large number of wooden houses (2 persons each) directly in the jungle. The buildings are connected via wooden walk ways. We found the house comfortable and in good condition. Food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. The lodge can only be reached by boat. We took the 1h boat trip from Cano Blanco,... More

Beautiful facility with abundant wildlife. As soon as we arrived on the way to our hut we saw a howler monkey with her baby right above us in the trees. That was just the start of our adventure as we saw many other critters over the following days including poison dart frogs, iguana, land crabs, big spiders, toucan and parrots.... More

I loved this place. All the comforts right there in the jungle. Staff and food were great and there was lots of wildlife right above us in the trees. Monkeys, iguanas, parrots and macaws. They offer boat trips up the Tortuguera and penitensia rivers and the ocean is only 5 minutes away by boat. Lots to see everyday.

After a long bus ride to the river bank, we boarded our covered boat for a speedy ride to Ahninga Lodge. This took about 1 hr, 15 minutes. There was enough water in the river so we didn't have to push the boat. We were warmly greeted upon arrival at the lodge's dock, and welcomed with an exotic non-alcoholic drink.... More
