I stayed two nights in this truly atmospheric lodge as part of a wonderful group tour last December, and I loved it. The rooms, set along airy verandas with your own rocking chair, were not of your deluxe-could-be-anywhere-in-the-world variety: they were old-time wooden lodges with dark walls, basic beds, good functioning fans (vital in that humidity!), and screened windows. When... More

The Rooms are not accessorized with anything, the beds are old. The restaurant offers very BASIC buffet and the pools do not have working showers. For the price, maybe not worth it.. But the prices are very high in all the lodges in tortuguero... You will want to stai absolutely not more than 2 nights. Some tour operators suggest 3... More

The lodge is good, with nice swimmingpool and gardens. The thing is: rooms are not so nice, no shower gel (just a soap pill), no sheets in the bed (just a cover and blankets), no fantastic food for breakfast or lunch or dinner, ... it's just a nice place but i think there are some lacks that could be covered... Laguna Lodge was the first stop in our student group's 10-day journey of Costa Rica. There are only two ways to get to this resort, or any resort in Tortuguero -- plane or boat. We took the boat during a time where a stormy weather pattern dumped at least a foot of rain on the area. When we docked we... More

We stayed at this resort as part of a tour group. It took about an hour boat ride to get to this place and were greeted with a nice tropical drink upon arrival. Beautiful surroundings and lush gardens with two nice pools and a hammock area. The wooden cabins are charming. Basic bed but comfortable. We're a family of four,... More

Lodge is between the river and the ocean and surrounded by lush jungle. I am a bird watcher and had fun lounging in the beautiful pool as toucans flew around. Lots of iguanas but they don't bother you. Simple but adequate cabins. No air conditioning, but the fans work fine. Enjoyed the porch rocking chairs. The food is good and... More

We took time away from the noise of the city to spend some quiet time in Tortuguero Lodge in the midst of the Tortuguero National Park in Costa Rica. The trip from San Jose, courtesy of the Lodge, was a mixture of highways, byways, dirt roads, and about an hour down a river by boat. It was worth it all.... More

Stayed here with a high school group. The location is spectacular. Between the ocean and the river with immaculate grounds and plentiful wildlife to see all around you. A short walk from town.Very nice pools and other amenities. The rooms were upscale cabins but were very nice, clean and well appointed. The rocking chairs on the porches were a nice... More

Full of tour groups. Lots of rustic wooden cabins set in lush grounds. Remember to pick up an umbrella at the entrance - you'll need it. Cabins have nice terrace with rocking chairs - nice place to relax & watch the abundant wildlife. Food pretty average altho plentiful Mealtimes can be pretty chaotic as staff don't seem to be very... The place is clean and the service is very nice and relaxing. I liked the rocking chairs outside the rooms. The rooms are made of wood so when if it rains at night (and it rained really hard on both nights I stayed) you may wake up from the sound of the rain on the roof. The food was disappointing... More
