We arrived in Tortuguero on a 6 seater Natureair flight, which was fantastic! Tortuguero is a small, Caribbean village, but the sea is not your typical azure sea but a muddy colour and not safe to swim in because of the currents and various wildlife. Just in case you expect a postcard Caribbean sea! Even though it was dry season,... More

Casa Marbella was just ok. The people were not overly friendly or open with information and we had no hot water. It was reasonably priced though and it was clean. I do suggest that everyone who can, travel up to Tortuguero. It is very interesting to experience.

We flew to Tortuguero with Nature Air which was a high light in itself. From the airport there are river taxis ($5) to take you to your hotel. If you let Casa Marbella know they will arrange one. Tortuguero is noted for its wildlife, particularly turtle nesting. Casa Marbella is the answer for excellent touring. Daryl Loth, owner of Casa... More

This is a good pick on Tortuguero. The rooms are clean and have private toilet and shower. Only disadvantage is that there is no A/C, only fan. But the fans are brandnew and pretty good blowing a bit of freshness into the room. They organise tours which are perfect! Daryl is a enthousiastic guy and knows a lot about nature/wildllife... We stayed here as we were on a budget and rooms are only $40 but really they are great value for anyone looking for mid-range accommodation. Rooms are spotless with private bathrooms. The deck on the river's edge is a very nice cool spot in the heat. We absolutely loved the three hour boat tour with owner Daryl Loth who... More

What a nice stay in tortuguero! The casa is very well located and accessible by boat with a private port. Daryl Loth, the owner, is passionated by his work and proposed us to make a trip by boat to see the caimans, the monkeys, the birds...it was really exceptional! Thank you Daryl for that!

Casa Marbella is a great place to stay in Tortuguero. The room was a bit small for our family of four, but was sparkling clean and charming. Breakfast was really good and was different on the four mornings that we stayed there. It is well located, right in the middle of the village and close to everything. The staff was... More

We stayed at Casa Marbella in Tortuguero. The information Daryl shared with me about the town's website and transportation to and from Tortuguero was very helpful. It was fun going by boat and then leaving by boat to Moin. The boat company even had a shuttle waiting for us at a reasonable cost. I thought that was a great way... More

The Casa Marbella is a relaxing and nice place to stay while in Tortuguera. The hostess is very helpful and responsive to questions. Two of our party had booked a fishing outing and she called the guide to let him know we had arrived. The breakfasts (included in the price) were tasty and plentiful. The best part of the stay... We had 5 nights here during a month long tour of Costa Rica. Tortuguero, and Casa Marbella, are definately at the top of our favourite places. The Casa is clean and located at the heart of the village giving a real insight of life in Tortuguero. Nice room and patio overlooking the river to chill out in. Staff are friendly... More
