Casa Marbella offers comfortable rooms (with fans) in the village of Puerto Tortuguero. The terrace overlooks the river from which daily trips can be arranged to view wildlife or hike up the (only) local hill. The only downside is the local disco (about 250 m away) whose thump, thump can disturb the peaceful evenings. We had a double aspect room... More

We just returned from two nights at Casa Mirabella in the superior downstairs room. We were excited to experience the island and meet Daryl the owner of this property who was featured in several Costa RIca tour books. Pro's: Inexpensive price for the size/quality of the room. Excellent breakfast (coffee/tea, fruit plate and then the days offering: banana pancakes one... More

My fiancee and I stayed at Casa Marbella for 2 nights in August 2011. We had a room on the side of the main building so it wasn't facing the street or the river. Our room was next to the kitchen where breakfast was prepared each morning and woke to the smell of coffee brewing (YUM! a bit like a... More

We LOVED Casa Marbella and, after reading the reviews on here, could not wait to visit. We chose it because of it's appropriateness - it seemed right to stay in a comfortable and friendly B&B in the heart of such an amazing place, opposed to a soulless, 5* spa lodge which detracts from, opposed to nestle in, its surroundings. We... More

Casa Marbella was our first stop on our first trip to Costa Rica. We stayed three nights in the upstairs room overlooking the river, which was bright, clean, and spacious, with a large bathroom. The deck where breakfast is served is a nice spot to relax in the afternoon as well. We went on an early morning boat tour with... More

If you're looking for someplace to stay where it feels like you've landed inside a tropically-themed postcard, my wife and I would suggest you stay at Casa Marbella. Impeccably clean and affordable, it is located right on the water and the main "street" through town. The owner, Daryl, was a wonderful source of information and was able to help us... More

we can strongly advise a (minumum 2 nights') stay at Casa Marbella, run by Canadian Daryl Loth, a passionate naturalist. His modest (but very attractive and clean) B&B is situated right in the middle of where real life is happening in Tortuguero : on the banks of the canal by which you arrive in this wonderful village. It has its... More

We stayed in Tortuguero only two nights, but it was an unforgettable experience. After poor sleep the two nights before arriving, our first night at Casa Marbella we fell asleep to a thunderstorm, and I felt utterly safe and at home. The next morning we had a wonderful wildlife boat tour with Daryl. Sitting on the deck was blissful--at breakfast... More

Our stay at Casa Marbella was definitely a highlight of our trip in Central America. This isn't a review of Tortuguero as a destination (which is amazing for wildlife, we saw the most animals in a 3 hr boat tour than in our whole trip). We were super impressed with the service. Staff is so professional and friendly. The rooms... More

Here we were greeted with open hearts surrounded in a breath taking scenery.. weren't expecting it to be this beautiful- naturally stunning! Absolute must to take a national park tour in the morning with the hotel as he is such a knowledgeable tour guide. Emily, Melb Aus. now living in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica.
