We booked Casa Marbella for 3 nights in Tortuguero after reading great reviews here and looking at their website & tour descriptions. We didn't want to book one of the packages that are built around one of the bigger lodges further from the village - these all depart from San Jose, are expensive and include 8 hours bus/boat trip each... Great little budget accomdation right in the village. If you are an independent taveler, and not on an expensive package tour, this is the place for you. The rooms are very basic, but this b&b offers excellent tours throughout the area, and includes a great BK and the best coffee we had in Costa Rica. Also has a great deck... More

We stayed here just one night (July 18). I came across this B&B after a lot of searching on the web looking for a way to visit Tortuguero independently and not as a package tour. Daryl and Isabella run this place. I had spoken to Isabella on the phone even before booking the place. She was incredibly friendly and helpful... More

We stayed three nights at Casa Marbella. The staff were friendly and helpful and the orwner, Daryl Loth, is a fantastic guide. Coffee was out at 5:30 AM and breakfasts were substantial and good. The breakfast area and dock are pleasant places to sit and read. I would give Casa Marbella 5 stars, except that the family room, where we... More

We had a really pleasant stay at Casa Marbella. Jeana and Daryl were helpful and courteous. They also provided wonderful informative tours and answered all questions regarding our travel. They also have rubber boots for you to borrow during those rainy treks. The rooms were cozy and clean and came with a good breakfast. Laundry service was also available. For... More

I would recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone and everyone. Wonderful owner, Daryl Loth, who is a fantastic guide as well, delicious breakfasts, and a lovely dock on the river that is perfect for catching sunsets with a cold Imperial (Costa Rican beer). They also help you book the tours of your choice, without giving you an itinerary which... More

We have just come back from Costa Rica where we had a wonderful holiday. !Pura Vida! We are a family of five and we had an enjoyable stay at Casa Marbella. All the people from Casa Marbella have always been attentive and very helpful. Our family room was spacious and very clean. There is no a/c but the fan was... More

This is a very good, affordable ($40) place to stay in Tortuguero village. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable with bathroom and fan. It has a nice deck area at the back to sit and watch the sun go down over the jungle and laguna. Gina, who looked after us when we were there was very nice... More

Tortuguero is a natural to enchant! The staff at Casa Marbella are knowledgable about the area - where to get anything in the village. The owner (ex-pat Canuck) is the former director of the biological centre and guides the morning tours. Even the volunteers at the local biological centre were amazed at the variety of feathered friends, not to forget... More

Casa Marabella is an excellent place to stay in Tortuguero. I have visited and stayed three times in March and April. Its location is simply great being right on the canal. The boat from La Pavona or from Moin will let you off right at its private dock. On this dock under the shade of three large trees is a... More
