Arriving in Tortuguero by boat is very special and pulling up at casa marbella's own dock is very nice. It is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the very nice breakfast or just read your book. Our room was small (our choice) with a ceiling fan that was pointless, lucky there was a stand alone fan that tried keeping... More

We were planning to visit Tortuguero in July 2014 and had made a tentative booking at Casa Marbella. Unfortunately, we could not fit Tortuguero into our tight itinerary and had to drop it in the end. However, I had numerous correspondene with Daryl Loth of Casa Marbella where we planned to stay and he was extremely helpful and courteous. If... More

Upon arriving in Tortuguero, we were a little unsure of what we had gotten ourselves into. Torgtuguero is super small and isolated. Casa Marbella was a nice place to hang out for a few days. The rooms are basic, no AC, just fans, but they are clean and have hot showers. We really liked the outside deck on the river... More

Tortuguero was the first stop on our Costa Rica tour, and like the reviewer below we decided to stay in the village rather than at one of the lodges for easier access to restaurants etc. Casa Marbella was a great choice, the room was the best one they had and was upstairs facing the river. It was basic, but very... More

Tortuguero was our 2nd destination and we decided to stay in Casa Marbella due to great reviews in trip advisor. We stayed there for two nights. Communication with Lydia via email was excellent. Due to my error I only booked it for one night but the owner was very acomodating and moved us to another room for reasonable money. Girl... More

We just got back from our Costa Rica trip. Tortuguero was our last stop. We decided to stay in the village vs a resort because of easier access to the national park, more restaurant options, more tour options. And it was the right decision. It was raining almost all the time we were there. We liked that Casa Marbelka was... More

we stayed in the cabinas for 1 night only as part of the trip to Tortuguero. the cabina we stayed in had 2 rooms with 3 beds in total, and a bathroom. there wasa communal kitchenette with fridge where we vere able to leave our perishable foods. Tortuguero is tiny, literally only one street, but this is not why people... More

Enjoyed my stay here. My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights and found it very relaxing. Internet service was very slow but we didn't go to Tortuguero for WiFi! Breakfast was good and hearty with delicious fresh fruit and different from day to day-pancakes one day and scrambled eggs the next...we missed our third day's breakfast to catch 5:30... More

A month before arriving we mailed to make a reservation in Casa Marbella. We received a lot of helpful information about Costa Rica, Tortuguero and how to get there by email. Casa Marbella is located next to the river of Tortuguero. So bring your camero to spot herons, iguanas, montezuma's, ... The rooms are not oversized, but clean. Staff is... More

Based on the reviews on Tripadvisor, we used Casa Marbella as our base for Tortuguero, and we did not regret it. The rooms are simple and basic, but very spacious. The service is good, the personnel does its best to help. The breakfast was of good quality. We also did an early morning boat tour with them. Our guide Roberto... More
