Wonderfully situated by the river and nestled into the rain forrest, this hotel gives you a real feeling of being away from it all. The hotel is well laid out, with covered walkways to the cabins, boat house and restaurant. The cabins are very comfortable with good en suite facilities. Umbrellas are provided (ours even had a frog in it!)... More

If you're looking for a slightly quieter and more personal place to stay in Tortuguero then look no further than Manatus Lodge. The location, rooms and service from the wonderful staff made our 2 night stay very memorable. Our guide Luis really brought the place alive and we were rewarded with sightings of most of the animals we hoped to... More

Manatus Lodge has a stunning riverside location with beautifully furnished air-conditioned rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The restaurant is reached by covered walkways as is the boathouse. We had three trips from the hotel, to Tortuguero town, Tortuguero National Park and a river cruise - all reached using the lodge's launch and guides. On one we witnessed why the vegetation is... Picked up at La Pavona quay and taken through the breathtaking waterways through the National Park. Even before we arrived at the hotel, we stopped to watch the Three toed sloth. We were welcomed with a cold towel and refreshing drinks. The hotel is small and oozes charm. The fact the hotel has a pool is a bonus, as after... More

We arrived by boat through amazing waterways in this National Park, to be greeted with a warm welcome. Our room in this small hotel was comfortable and attractively arranged, the food was delicious and beautifully served. The area is fascinating, we saw lots of interesting birds and animals with our expert guide Luis. What a perfect place to relax and... More

Set in deep jungle accessible only by boat. Howler monkeys wake you at dawn. Generous lunches and acceptable food. Only twelve identical bungalows make up this hotel which are comfortable and reasonably equipped. Iguanas shin up the trees outside and basilisk lizards lounge in the grounds. Boat rides from the hotel are atmospheric (even in tropical rain storms) and sightings... More

Our first impression of this accommodation was not very inspiring..the 'villas' looked a bit like Nissen huts from the outside, but were surprisingly comfortable on the inside. There were lovely four poster beds, a huge shower, and air conditioning. The only thing missing was tea and coffee making facilities, and as the weather was atrocious for our short stay, confining... This is a small hotel a few minutes boat trip outside the Tortuguero National Park. You can only get there by boat along the canals. Nice casitas, good restaurant, although being all inclusive the menu doesn't change much - not a problem as you only stay for about 3 days. Great guides and other staff. The landing stage was being... More
