We are really glad that we added Tortuguero to what we initially planned as a beach vacation on the southern part of Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, and especially that we chose to spend those extra days at exactly this lodge. The staff was extremely friendly and diligent. We arrived via some strange transportation hiccups (with another company), but we were... More

We took a 3 days packages with pickup at our hotel in San José. On the way to the Tortuguero, we stopped in Guapiles at Nava Café for a very nice breakfast. Then we took a boat to the hotel. We had a nice bungalow with a/c but not balcony with hamacs to rest. The room was clean and we... More

Small, boutigue lodge in Tortuguero, about 12 rooms, total capacity 48 people. Friendly people from Luis who picks you up at the one strip airport and transports you by boat to the lodge 5 minutes down the water to Jason and others who server you breakfast, lunch and dinner. 2 nights to see the wildlife by canal is plenty. Luis... More

There is nothing wrong with this hotel as in other reviews but I want to warn travellers about a restaurant they seem to always use on the journey from San Jose. We stopped mid way for breakfast/lunch both ways from/to San Jose in a rather modern little restaurant that appears to be connected to the hotel. It is a set... More

Dear Guest, We are glad to know that your stay at Hotel Manatus was pleasant. The restaurant you mention is independent of Hotel Manatus. However, we have chosen that place because it provides a high quality service, great food and modern facilities. We regret the situation you had in that restaurant. We will work together with them to prevent such... More

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. This is a small hotel and staff remember your name so it feels almost like family. Rooms are comfortable and have air conditioning which is great in the rather humid conditions. The restaurant has very friendly service (say hi to Valerie and Geison), and nice food. We had two excursions around... More

This boutique hotel is well run, comfortable plus has air conditioning in the rooms. Transportation here depends on boat. The hotel has a trail through often boggy rain forest but that is it apart from views of the lagoon. The town of Tortuguero, also accessed by boat, leads to a beach on the Carribean. The town has shops, restaurants etc.... More

A perfect hotel in a beautiful nature! Upon arrival we were welcomed with a nice tropical drink and introduced too the personnel. The rooms are very big with 2 comfortable beds and the bathroom has an indoor and an outdoor shower. The food is really great, and the hotel had a really nice feel about it. There are a lot... More

I loved my stay in Tortuguero and one the reasons I loved it so much was the hotel. Transportation to the hotel and back to the station was perfectly organised. With the guide, manager and captain. Restaurant offers menu, so you can choose whatever you want for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms are big, cozy and clean. Staff is nice,... More
