I visited Turtle Beach Lodge last fall and had such a wonderful trip that I couldn't wait to visit again with family members- especially 3 children 5, 9 & 10. I knew they would be as enchanted as I was by a jungle experience. The lodge is a delightful place for a family visit- the staff is so friendly and... More

We book our tour to Tortuguero with this Hotel, at a closed price of 288$ per person, for two days, including meals, two tours (one is an hour tour walk through their private hotel reserve). Our surprise was at the time of paying. We ended paying nearly 700$ for two people. Nearly 70$ more per person. They charge you for... More

This lodge is quite isolated within the jungle and reachable only by small boat through the nearby river and then two canals. This requires some significant time traveling to and from local attractions, including in our case a nigh time visit to the beach area where we observed large green turtles coming ashore to lay eggs, a truly great experience.... My husband and I went to Turtle Beach Lodge for our 10th anniversary. We both love the lodge and its surroundings, everything is so beautiful. I'm not a nature enthusiast, but I think this lodge and the optional tours might change my mind. Before you book the lodge, you must understand that it's located in the middle of mangrove/rainforest. There... More

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of July and despite the torrential rain we still had an amazing experience. Warner, our guide who always had a smile on his face, couldn't have been more helpful, knowledgeable and generally fantastic. The combination of Warner's knowledge and John's extraordinary wildlife spotting made the boat tour the highlight of our... More

My husband and I ,were there for 2 nights with a group tour. The rooms were uninviting the food was probably ok for the locals but we could hardly eat anything. The nature tours ,especially after the rain , weren't too much fun , we hardly saw any wild life.So disappointing.I must mention that we are grandparents, maybe is more fun... The magnificent rainforest is a part of Costa Rica not to be missed and Turtle Beach Lodge is the place to go to experience it. The rooms are large, lovely and clean, although the beds are on the hard side. The food is acceptable, but I learned you don't go to Costa Rica for the cuisine. The rest was magnificent. Our... More

This was the first and favourite of our many stops in Costa Rica. You get the canals, the rain forest, the ocean and all the wonderful wildlife that comes with! We spent the days canoeing and spotted Caymen crocs and following famillies of monkeys around the hotel, swinging in the tree tops. The room, the food, pool, the whole grounds... More

This was our first destination on our trip around Costa Rica. The hotel is in the middle of the jungle and the entry is at on of the many small canals. From the hotel premises you walk directly onto a beautiful beach. The region is notorious for the amount of rain, but we were lucky to have three days of... More

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights in July. The hotel is accessible only by boat or small planes and is very secluded. We were picked up by our guide from San Jose and taken by bus to the river for the next phase of the journey. The boat ride itself was amazing and we saw all... More
