We had a wonderful visit to Tortuguero and staying at the Pachira Lodge was a perfect spot. Our guide arranged for an early morning jungle boat trip, that was amazing. We spotted lots of birds, Iguana's laying on tree branches, the guide picked up a turtle for all to see. Also, spotted a "Jesus" lizard as it dashed from a... More

Great place to get back to nature. They offer great trips such as zip-lining and sea turtle visits. Guides have great knowledge. The rooms are basic but perfect in the environment. All very well organised. The food, whilst basic, is very nice, my only criticism is that is is very repetitive but this is the local diet and it has... More

Started our 2 week holiday here visiting Tortuguero. Amazing 1 hr river shuttle to get there as no road access - this makes it feel very special. The Lodge caters for large numbers of travellers. A little bit canteen-style but food was fine and staff and service were very good. Cabin rooms in the beautiful natural setting were fine but... More

It was wonderful. Pachira lodge is a very comfortable lodge in Tortuguerro. The guides are very helpful and try to show you everything you can see in the jungle. The package consists of a walk in the jungle, a boat cruise on the river and a visit in Tortuguerro. The staff is very helpful and alleys friendly. The best experience... More

We had a wonderfull time at Pachira Lodge. Everything was very good: the pool, the food and our guide was great "Alfonso". The room was very simple, but for the rest it was fine. In the morning you will be woken by howler monkey's.

What a location! Sitting on the bank of the river pretty much opposite Tortuguero village, nestled in the middle of Costa Rican rain forest makes for a fantastic location and a lovely hotel. We stayed in rooms 1 and 2, close to the main dock, in comfortable beds. The rooms and decking area were beautifully maintained and cleaned regularly. As... More

This lodge is tucked away in one of the canals of Tortuguero National Park. All transportation is by boat where you are surrounded by beautiful, dense, plush jungle. The "windows" in your room are screens which allow you to hear all the forest noises. It was pretty cool to hear everything at bedtime and it did not keep us up.... More

We spent there 2 nights. The night tour to see the turtles nesting on the beach was an unforgettable experience worth getting there. The lodge in OK and rooms are fine. The food is just acceptable. There is not much choice but it us OK for 2/3 days. However, what I think is unacceptable is the way the tour works.... More

Pachira - our base for a great stay in Tortugera. The boat ride out to lodges is an experience in itself - amazing. Like The old tropical Disney riverboat ride but turbo charged !. Lodges very clean and well serviced. Hot and cold water bit of a mystery but you work it out. Food great in nice restaurant buildings. Our... More
