Yes, they are very smart and very careful to respect the environment. You buy a bottle of water once you arrive and then you can refill it for free. Can you imagine how many plastic they avoid to produce ?!?! Very smart! Moreover, service is good, location is amazing....if you go to Costa Rica, this lodge is really a must!

Yup, it is an effort to get here, road and river travel, however, it is definitely worth it. My wife and I had a difference of opinion about the hotel - she thought it was excellent but I thought is was very good. If the rooms had been updated inside and had a few more facilities I too would have... More

Pachira lodge is a peaceful, fascinating area amidst the amazing Tortuguero National Park. The lodges are very comfortable. The food at the restaurant is great with wide variety. The absolute highlight is the fantastic wildlife which is easy to come across in the area.In the trees surounding the lodges, the magnificent mantled howler monkey can be seen in family groups clambering through... Tortuguero was part of our package when visiting Costa Rica. Only one week before travelling we knew where exactly we were going to stay. Pachira Lodge is not only a hotel... it's all about the Tortuguero experience. From the moment you're picked up in San Jose, you're in Pachira's hands. The guide is very polite and has a nice sense... More

If you want to see colourful birds, fabulous flowers, noisy monkeys and blue crabs you will see them all walking from your room to the dining room. Comfortable, clean spacious rooms with good hot showers and a verandah front and back. Howler monkeys may wake you very, very early in the morning. Set buffet meals were mostly fine, just don't... This is a very rustic, basic lodge. If you want to be in the middle of nature this is a great place. You will hear howler monkeys at dawn and lots of birds. Rooms are very basic. No ac. Beds pretty hard. Slippery wood floors and small tile bath with shower. Shower floor was slippery so bring flip-flops. Rooms have... More

By must, I mean Toruguero but I can recommend Pachiro. In common with the location of what I assume all Tortuguero lodges have, this is on a canal and the buildings are elevated a meter or so above the ground. The 4 rooms in clusters of 4 are a bit primitive but certainly acceptable and most or all are connected... More

Our visit to Pachira Lodge was very interesting. The Lodge is situated on Laguna near Caribbean and is like in jungle .One can wonder around and enjoy the spa and two swimming pools. We had a good guide who shed light on the fauna and the animal species which are inhabiting this beautiful area. During the canal tours we saw monkeys,... More

Nice but simpel place where you can really enjoy the jungle. Lokal food, eco-oriented cabins (a little more light would be convenient), no ac but moscito net instead of glass in the windows, so you can really enjoy the sounds of the jungle. Nice pool and bar area, howler monkeys hanging around. Friendly staff. Enjoy the boat trip 1 hour... More

The hotel is situated about a 11/2 hr boat ride up the canals. It is set right in amongst the Jungle. The rooms are simple yet comfortable; they all have private facilities and a celing fan. They are situalted along weaving parthways and blocks of four back to back. The food is varied, very enjoyable in the restaurant and there... More
