We stayed 1 night here, together with another family, as part of a tour around Costa Rica. The first impression was great. We were greeted with a coctail near the lovely swimming pool, surrounded by beautiful trees and wildlife, but it pretty much ended here. The "trek" to our room was long, not to mention the fact that you needed... More

Such an idyllic spot. The cabins are spacious with a veranda front and back. Wildlife all around. You feel very much like you are living in the jungle! Also, a lovely little bar area to while away the evening. Food was served buffet style and was very good,

We stayed here 3 nights. The rooms were big and in the morning you heard the howling monkeys. In the evening you heard the birds. The food was oke, good. Book morning tours in advance. Or ask for them, it s really worth doing it. You will see different sorts of animals than in the afternoon. Service was good. Same... More

This was an awesome experience. The lodge is a beautiful collection of small buildings each holding four spacious rooms with wide covered sitting porches connected by covered bridges. The dining/front desk building is a beautiful airy structure with spectacular views of jungle on all sides. The jungle grounds are gorgeous, full of incredible flora and fauna. We saw howler monkeys... More

We stayed at Pachira Lodge as part of a package offered with Selva Verde Lodge in Sarapiqui/Chilamate Costa Rica (a separate review of that leg of the trip is forthcoming). Our Itinerary was like this: Day one: Our top-notch tour guide (Fernando) and bus from Pachira picked us up at 6AM from a hotel in San Jose. We then spent... More

Cannot recommend Pachira Lodge highly enough: stunning rainforest setting, fabulously friendly and helpful staff (Manuel and Robert in particular!), delicious food, and great facilities! Perfect introduction to Costa Rica!

The hotels location is perfect for seeing turtle beach, the jungle canals and the forest surrounding the resort. The river boat ride there was great (only way to reach the hotel). The pick-up location and all of the process of getting there was very organized. The guide which is assigned your group, will be very knowledgable of the area and... More

We went at the end of May, we lucked out with great weather, a small group at the lodge so it felt very private, and an amazing tour guide, Alfonso. The lodge had very friendly staff, as you will find anywhere in CR. The rooms were awesome! Felt (and sounded) like we were right in the jungle. So many birds,... More

We had the 2 night package including transfer from our hotel in San Jose and everything went like clock work. Sebastian our guide kept us well informed and was always at hand to answer our questions. Meals were buffet style with an "egg station" for breakfast and a "pasta station" during dinner". Drink service during dinner was slow and we... More

The only way you can get to Pachira Lodge is by boat. You drive down smaller and smaller roads until you reach the ferry dock (think of it as a bus terminal), picture below. Then it's load up for a 1.5 hour ride through the coastal rain forest to the lodge. The place is beautiful! And, good to the area's... More
