Access to the Pachira Lodge id by boat – no road – and then a walk through their fabulous grounds to your chalet/cabin, provided you can avoid the iguanas that wonder around the site as if they own The monkeys in the trees are permanent guests and they can be very nosy in the morning, as are the many splendid... Transfer to the hotel by road from el ceibo restaurant which is the meeting point takes 3.5hours road and boat. Then you get rushed into lunch before having the chance to get into your room to freshen up or dump hand luggage. They are obsessed with timed eating. 7am breakfast, 1PM lunch, 7PM dinner and you MUST spend each meal... More

If there was a "good" i'd have marked it at that, great setting with plenty of wild life only let down by the regimented 7 1 7 feeding times, whilst I appreciate the need for some control over eating times it would have been nice to have an on site restaurant with a little variety. On the plus the rooms... More

Have you ever been to a place and the entire time you were there, you were just wishing it was time to leave? Well that was our experience. Primarily due to it being so uncomfortably hot in the rooms. The rooms have no air conditioning. Instead of glass windows, you have screens which are supposed to let air circulate. Now... More

The hotel was very nice with everything you can ask for. Room was big (no A/C but the fan was good enough). Food was good but repeat itself every day. The best thing about this hotel was the guided tour – we book a 3 day package and the guided tour (by Ronny and Oliver) was the bets you could... More

Nice place right on the water so easy to take the boat trips without trekking for miles through the rainforest. Nice buffet style food for all meals with some great juices e.g. Guava and blackberry. Reasonable strength wifi at reception. Lots of wildlife on site e.g. Sloths, crabs and hummingbirds. Good electricity in room. Good water pressure in shower. Bar... More

We stayed two days and we enjoy it very much. Basic-equipped rooms but located in a beautiful environment into the nature, surrounded by exotic animals. Good food and especially tasty juices, gentle and professional personnel. Highly recommended.

Had a good time here. I wouldn't go here on honeymoon though unless you got a private room. There are no Windows to keep noise out. The food is excellent. Our tour guide Fernando was outstanding! He showed us a bunch of animals. Clean room and you will get woken up by howler monkeys!

My family (of 7) and I visited the Pachira Lodge a little over a week ago. It was our first stop on our first trip to Costa Rica, and we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this unique and beautiful country. The Lodge felt like summer camp with a bar! There were cabins situated throughout the property, and... More
