The lodge is in the middle along the rain forest, along the shores of Tortugero Lagoon and a short boat ride from the Tortugero village. Boat or plane/boat is the only way in. We took a bus and then transferred onto a boat that took just over an hour, nice ride in, just glad it wasn't raining. The luggage xfer... More

This lodge knows how to organize! We were transported early from San Jose with a touringcar, got a breakfast complimentary from pachira lodge, and when we arrived to cano blanco, everything was settled for us. Professional, on time, perfect guides, fantastic experience. We've seen the turtles laying eggs, and although it rained very hard, we were so happy! When we... More

This is a lodge completely surrounded by nature in the middle of the rainforest. There are no roads, it is only accessible by boat via canal. The rooms are not luxurious, no AC, phones, internet or tv. But you're not here for that. You're there for the nature. And in that sense, it's fantastic. There was a family of howler... More

We have never been in a place as Tortuguero. Tortuguero is >1h by boat of the closest road! We were in the middle of a reserve. This is a eco hotel very well designed with very nice rooms. The staff was fantastic and all the activities were very good. We recommend if you can to go at night to see... More

I think this may be my first time i give a 2 star review to any hotel. I should put in a disclaimer though, this area is very romote and only 18 lodges exist here, so while i really hope there are better lodges, i can't be sure, i didn't try any other ones around. Its important to understand that... More

We stayed here as part of our tour in CR, the rain was incessant, we couldn't have got wetter in the pool, having said that the lodge guides changed the programme to suit the weather, and it was sooo nice getting back to the lodge after a day out. The rooms were very simple but clean and comfortable, with a... More

As a solo traveler again i will try not to compare this lodge with the one i stayed in in Peru. The location was brilliant. I stayed here for 2 nights and i think that's enough. Not much else to see after that. The excursion through the waterways was excellent and the guides knew exactly where to take you to... More

We stayed 2 nights in Pachira as part of our Tortuguero visit to the park. The lodge is very nice and well equipped. The deal includes 3 meals a day and pre-booked tours. We very much enjoyed the turtle shaped pool and the nice and welcoming reception and dining room. The overall experience was very good, even though it was... More

Hotel is in middle of jungle and was reached via a hour and half boat trip! Lodges very good! Fan in room kept room cool! Showers adequate! One gripe no plug in sink! All inclusive meal package and the food was good and plentiful. Trips into the national parks amazing! Thunderstorms absolutely amazing!

This hotel in the middle of the jungle, right next to a big river, has to be one of the nicest locations for a hotel I've visited. Monkeys almost literally walk on your roof, and different species of reptiles and birds can be found if you look carefully. The facilities of the hotel were less impressive. No wifi in the... More
