The Lodge is located on very beautiful lush, green property along the lagoon. Our room was very comfortable complete with two hammocks to have a nap or read a book.Pool area is very nice; large pool. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Wildlife guides are excellent: we did the boat tour twice and even in the rain, enjoyed the beautiful... More

We stayed at the Junior suite on the lower level. Lovely room and the wildlife experience is exceptional! The guides are amazingl! Willis took us out on our first river adventure and was amazing! Since then he has helped us out to identify other flowers and birds. Nothing is too much for him and the other guides! The restaurant service... More

Dear Fanny4111927, Thank you for the heads up on our service in the restaurant. Our staff is trying very hard to learn to consistently provide service at the level that our guests have come to expect, but as you've seen, they sometimes fall short. We are working with them continually and trust that your dining experiences over the next couple... More

Tortuga Lodge is paradise! The rooms are housed 4 to a building: 2 up and 2 down. The buildings are located on either side of the open air dining and bar area. There is a lovely, inviting swimming pool and a palapa with hammocks for relaxing or napping. Food is incredible and plentiful. You will NOT go hungry. Excursions into... More

This is an amazing lodge, in a superb location! People there are very helpful! Food is superb! Wildlife is amazing!! Definitely go for it! But stay for at least 3 nights because in 2 days you will not have the time to enjoy this magnificent place!! Definitely go for the boat tour in the national park!!

Everything was perfect about the lodge; the setting (idyllic), the staff (friendly and professional), the food (absolutely delicious) and the excursions (allow you to get out into nature with expert guides). A special experience was going to San Francisco to participate in the program run by the lodge to teach children English. It was interesting to see the village and... More

Dear Janet M, What a lovely review, thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. You mentioned how much you enjoyed The Words Adventure program. There is a real passion here for the local environment which comes across in every aspect of the lodge. This, along with the attention to detail, makes for a wonderful stay. High level of cleanliness, pure drinking water, plenty of wildlife within the grounds. Food refined and delicious. Could not fault our stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay near Tortuguero National Park. The rooms are in lodges within the grounds which are well kept with beautiful plants and flowers. The hotel is situated in the rainforest so you wake up to the sounds of howler monkeys and can easily spot monkeys, birds, igauanas, poison frogs and other wildlife in the grounds.... More

A beautiful lodge in beautiful surroundings.Staff were excellent, they were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely gardens and swimming pool too! One minor negative was no fridge in the room. I realise that fridges aren't exactly eco friendly but a small cooler with ice would be sufficient for keeping water cold? Just a thought. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here on a visit to Costa Rica 7 years ago, and when returning to the country, this was the one place we simply had to come back to again. We were not disappointed.
