Just the location of this hotel is amazing, amidst miles and miles of dense rainforest, away from civilisation! It's a really chilled out place & one for getting in touch with nature. The food was great, and they had happy hour everyday for drinks - our group had so many pina colada's, they'd eventually out! We went off season, so... More

This was a great place to stay. the room was basic, but clean, and as we were meaning to be out and enjoying Tortuguero this was not an issue. Showers were hot and large. The reception staff were very helpful and efficient. Restaurant was okay, although service at the bar could be a little slow if food was being served,... More

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Tortuguero. On arrival we were given a free drink and shown to our room. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and a large, warm shower. We especially enjoyed the pool area as we were very lucky with the weather. To get to the village you have to get a water taxi but... More

Tortuguero is awesome. The lodge is real nice. But this is a lousy deal. You need to take a water taxi to get in and out. This wouldn't be to bad if they had something to offer besides accommodation. The food in the restaurant is dreadful. Tilapia is the cheapest fish at home, and it was the only choice! There... More

This hotel had beautiful grounds and the view of the water was spectacular for both sunrise and sunset. The rooms were a bit spartan with only beds and a bathroom which could have used some updating. Also, there wasn't any hot water, which really is no big deal in Costa Rica where it is so hot already. Just as most... More

We stayed at La Baula (full board) as part of A Tortuguero package from exploradoresoutdoors.com. It's a fantastic location, on the waterfront of the Tortuguero canal. The rooms are simple, but comfortable, spread out in the lovely gardens. With the rainforest on your doorstep, we saw plenty of wild visitors, with a troupe of monkeys regularly visiting the grounds, and... More

From the moment they whisked us from the airport in their water taxi to Michael greetings us in the lobby with a welcome drink, we knew the service would be supreme. All the staff was so friendly and helpful. Booking great tours, making sure we reached our destinations and then pick when we were finished. Five stars for service and... More

This lodge is on the other side of the canal from where the town centre is beach is. We stayed here as part of G adventure tour. The rooms are simple rustic, no air con but there's a very good fan, no fridge so keep that in mind for storing items. There is a nice pool and the gardens are... More

One afternoon we were waiting for a kayak tour guide. The owners stepped in to make sure the guide knew we were ready and waiting...great service. All the resorts there have river taxis to get you around. The boat drivers were friendly and on time... again great service

I hated tortuguero, it's a dump. The lodge was awful, dirty rooms, bathroom discusting, we were told not to get make up or wipe our feet on towels, toilet paper has to go in a open bin. No ac just a really crappy fan, got woke up each morning by howler monkeys as in everywhere we went, so that's expected,... More
