We stayed here for one night as part of a package with Exploradores Outdoors and the hotel was a good base. You get an individual cabin, the rooms are basic (no AC) but were clean. There is a pool on site which was nice and you have access to free wifi and wellie boots if needed for the local walks.... More

The place looks nice and is on a nice location. The food is good. The rooms are somewhat small and basic, but pretty much okay. We reserved a room for 4 people, we got two rooms for two people. Woke up in the morning by the Howler monkeys!. Swimming pool a bit small. Dinner area nice and good view of... More

We stayed for 2 nights at La Baula. First impression when we got off the boat was unwelcome: quite some staff was watching us getting off with big bags, nobody helped or greeted us warmly. The room was horrible. Very outdated, it really needs some painting and make over. The fan was crap. The receptionist was friendly, informative and very... More

We spent a great time in our first trip to Costa Rica. The crew was very friendly, the food was good. The room was kind of simply, but clean and comfortable! They have a nice pool. I recommend this place. Good prices.

My husband and I visited La Baula on the first leg of our Honeymoon and we were not disappointed! The location is great, it is outside of the main village and only accessible by taxi boat, which gave us a great opportunity to see the sights. The rooms are basic but let's face it you are in the middle of... More

We stayed for two nights in June. The location of the place is great. We flew to Tortuguero and to a waters taxi, ,which saved us lots of time and the flight (only 25min from San Jose) was an adventure itself. The staff of the hotel was really lovely, especially the girl serving dinner, who constantly smiled! The buffet and... More

Nice hotel with friendly staff. David the bartender is quite friendly and makes good drinks and you can have a nice conversation with him. The food is good here and included in your stay. Breakfast lunch and dinner. Monkeys wake you up and you can see a lot of birds here. Room are just fine.

We had reservations for three rooms and she took us around to the open rooms to find just the right rooms for our group. The rooms we not outstanding....but they were clean and odor free. A simple, sweet & peaceful escape w/a fine waterside lounge, good food, friendly service, lovely grounds & nice little pool. A great place to hang out for a couple of days after more hectic travel, watching howler monkeys, parrots & canal traffic. A good value & a wonderful ride in by water bus!
