After staying here for 2 nights I started to realise that tortuguero isn't the safest place for a young solo female traveller, but the owners of this apartment were so friendly and chilled out I felt very welcome. The room is clean and spacey and the fact there is an open kitchen is perfect for those on a smaller budget.... More

...but it is nice. Clean rooms, wi-fi throughout and peaceful. There is a kitchen and a grocery store next door if you want to cook your own food. If you don't there is a semi-fancy restaurant also across the street. But in Tortuguero nothing is far away. The young guy that runs the place, and works very hard is super... More

Except for the bumpin music coming from the reggae bar across the walking path this place was perfect. The highlight I'd say was the exceptional staff who helped us book tours, transfers and recommended great restaurants for us. The gentleman whos name escapes me even let my partner use the cabinas computer to do some work one evening. He also... More

This place is a dump. The kitchen was so dirty it made me cringe every time I went in to heat up some water. The room was perpetually full of ants and mosquitoes (no nets) that came in through the cracks in the floor and walls. They only cleaned the rooms when the guests changed, no matter how long you... Cheap, well located (3 min walking from the entrance of the park, on the main road of the village), clean, with a kitchen to cook your own meals, a fast internet, a lovely garden and a staff extremely friendly ! Go there that s an excellent deal !

After getting hit by bedbugs in another hostel that had no spare rooms we had to leave in the middle of the night. We walked into Cabinas Tortuguero and woke up the owner at 2:30am. He was so kind and understanding. He wasn't at all annoyed and just told us to relax and sort out the check in in the... More

Very nice people who were working here. It was not a far walk from the boat with our luggage! We had 4 separate rooms all occupied with a private bathroom. Really clean. For such a great price! Also, the staff was so friendly. Wilfredo, who was responsible for the bookings, also was an excellent tourguide and took as to watch... More

I stayed in a double private room for $14 a night. Decent value for money given breakfast is not included but Wifi, ok showers and the other usual amenities. Rooms were very clean and no mossies inside, just a few ants. Jose the owner and all the staff were great, very friendly and helpful with all questions. I signed up... More

We stayed for two nights at 30 per night with a private bathroom. Actually we received a room in their partner hotel which is closer to the beach on the Caribbean cost. The host is super friendly, the room was alright, but a little run down. The bathroom was sufficient but not great and there were quite a few mosquito... More

I booked the room and payed our entire stay (2nights) online. Room was missing the toilets' door and when i asked about it the receptionist answered "aren't you a couple?". After several reminders they agreed to switch rooms, but only for the second night. The tour guide that works with the hostel and with whom we went to the turtles... More
