The Evergreen Lodge gave us a real taste of the rainforest - the hour long boat ride from the coach drop off point was a brilliant introduction and before we had even arrived we saw all sorts of wildlife. We were greeted with a welcome drink and given a short introduction to the hotel which has a pool, two bars... More

This place is amazing and can only be accessed by boat. Surround by mangroves and jungle the rooms are lodges up on stilts with frogs in the mangroves below and macaws and Toucans in the trees above. There were also white faced monkeys. Food in the restaurant was lovely and rooms had good shoes, safe deposit and very comfortable. It... More

The only way to access this hotel is by boat. It is one of several lodges next to the river. You are greeted by a fruit cocktail drink upon arrival and your luggage is waiting at your lodge. The lodges are of a good size and stand on stilts. Don't expect air-con as there are not even any glass windows;... More

This is what we expected on our tour of Costa Rica and we weren't disappointed. The individual cabins are built on stilts and have no windows - just mesh and curtains. The bathroom is basic, but whilst having a shower - you can watch the fireflies and hear the capuchin monkeys! The rain we had in the middle of the... More

We were already in a touring group when we arrived here. The welcome was a bit crowded but very friendly and efficient, nice to get a welcome drink as it was so hot. Our rooms were easy to find and all fairly close together. We didn't find the lack of windows an issue at all, I loved the idea of... More

We went to this amazing lodge as the start of our honeymoon. It was everything we expected and more. This is a great little jungle resort and I think everyone has to remember when coming here that you are right in the heart of the rainforest and some of your luxury will not be available. This however did in no... More

The accommodation in this hotel is very basic and not particularly attractive, nowhere to hand towels or put toiletries, no coffee in room and though there is a 'coffee station' which serves coffee 24 hours it was a long walk from our room. There isn't really any area to congregate and chat with other travellers and the lodge lack a... More

This is a National Park hotel. You don't get all of the nice amenities in a U.S. National Park hotel, so don't expect them here. But let me tell you what you do get. You get to see more wildlife than you might expect, you get to experience life in a rainforest, and you get to live in a rustic... More

I have given this lodge 5 stars based on the location and the overall experience and not necessarily the standard. The lodges arrange transport from your previous hotel location. We were first pick up from our hotel at 6am and it was a good hour before all the remaining guests from other hotels were picked up and we finally left... More

We stayed for two nights during our guided tour and found it a wonderful exprerience. From being woken at 5.00am each morning by the cries of the howler monkeys, to the soothing sounds of the forest late at night, it was something to be remembered forever. Food was very good, the staff attentive and the gardens a delight. Would love... More
