This is a great place to stay, explore the jungle, and see the turtles. The accommodations are very comfortable and clean, although, as promised, they are basic. The howler monkeys are better than any alarm and probably more reliable, especially if you want to wake up at 4:30 AM. The staff, especially the guides, are wonderful--friendly and very knowledgeable. The food... More

Absolutely gorgeous setting in the Costa Rican jungle! We loved it here! Room was large and clean. Our bathroom was handicap accessible so it was very large too. Soap was provided but not shampoo (but the soap in the shower could most likely be used as both). No hair dryer in the bathroom but I asked for one at the... More

The Evergreen Lodge is located in the national park and can only be accessed by boat (they pick up the guests from the most common meetings points). First: This Lodge is big. The park around is very well maintained, they have three different restaurants (each guest is allocated to one of them, same food in all three), bungalows, rooms and... More

First time I've been to any rain forest lodge with a pool and two bars! I had fantastic two day stay ,however felt that more activities could be laid on rather than depending on the pool to keep us happy. Food lovely, staff brilliant, animals terrific! Rooms are brilliant with netting instead of glass so you are woken by the... More

Stayed 2 nights in late September. Enjoyed the boat ride to the lodge and also the return by boat. The lodge itself is very basic. Curtains on screens could have been bigger so they would cover the whole window without anyone being able to see in. Only complaint was no area in bathroom for hanging hand towel by sink and... More

I felt a little railroaded, especially as I had planned what I wanted to do independently and had just come from the wonderful Selva Verde lodge in Sarapiqui. I wanted to do my own thing but we were organised into groups. I had a struggle with organising to do the things I wanted - its clear that they like ALL... More

Stayed 2 nights in August. That is one of the rainiest months of the year here in a rain forest. Still it was a great experience. Rain shortened one afternoon's tour but otherwise we did everything on our tour itinerary. It is prime time then for sea turtles to lay eggs. It cost extra but worth it. Saw probably a... More

Big rooms and bathrooms. No glass windows, just screens to make you feel like you are part of the outdoors. Tons of colorful crabs. Great pool, food and bar. The rooms were clean and the internet was far enough away so we werent able to sit on our phones.

We booked with Evergreen Lodge por a two days and two nights pack. The grounds are very nice and you're close to nature, we've been able to see there lots of white face monkeys (really close to us in the table of the restaurant, grabbing some sugar), spider monkeys in the trees over the swimming pool, howler monkeys could be... Overall nice hotel in the jungle, with big rooms. Limited wifi. Better buffet food than we expected. Lots of rain, rainforest after all, limited options and expeditions. We paid extra for the turtle viewing which was worth it. Typical level of mosquitoes. Again comparing to similar hotels in belize and peru, fewer hiking and animal viewing options.
