Just returned from my 3rd stay in paradise. Wish I didnt have ever have to leave. Bill and the gang are the best hosts you could ever ask for. I all most felt guilty for all the first class pampering to my every whim. Coffee, fruit bowls, and banana pancakes served on my porch everyday. I just cant say enough about the... more

My husband and I stayed at Pachamama last month. The scenery was beautiful, and the property was right in the jungle. We enjoyed seeing the howler monkeys and other wildlife. We have to agree with the other reviews that mention the need for earplugs to keep out the noise of the roosters and monkeys in the middle of the night.... more

Nice and peaceful... if only for the roosters... which, in all fairness were not the fault of the wonderful hosts (Bill cooked a great breakfast and was very knowledgeable, warm, and friendly). The roosters were across the river on another property. We live in Costa Rica and are used to being woken up by roosters (and dogs), but the property... more

Pachamama is THE place to stay in Costa Rica. It is a few miles south from Puerto Viejo making it peacefully away from the busy town, but close enough for comfort. Bill and Cathy are a delight and make you feel as if you are family stopping in for a visit. We were greeted with homemade muffins and friendly conversation.... more

Punta Uva is the BEST beach on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, with clear blue warm water, lined with coconut palms on the golden sand. One side of the point has gentle waves great for swimming and boogie boarding & on the other side of the point has a coral reef that comes all the way up to the... more

I stayed in Costa Rica for 2 weeks and one of my favorite parts of the trip was my short stay at Pachamama. What makes this hotel one of the best I have stayed at, are the owners Bill and Cathy. They were extremely helpful in all regards wether it be where to snorkel in Mnazanillo or where to grab... more

Yes, the grounds are beautiful, the location quiet and great for kids (close to a calm beach), and there's a lot of wildlife to see on the property, but what really makes this place shine is the hospitality of Bill of Kathy who anticipate your every need and are most accommodating. If you are a party of more than two,... more

Wake up to the sound of monkeys everyday in a beautiful house in the rainforest with fantastic wildlife outside your front door and wonderful owners who would do anything to make tour stay magical. 200 yards away is one of the best beaches in the caribbean with outstanding coral I stayed here for a month with my family and we... more

Staying at Pachamama with Bill was the perfect end to our vacation. The bungalow was comfortable with a group of howler monkeys for us to listen to and see right off the porch. Pachamama is a little ways away from Peurto Viejo, but there is a bus that picks up in front of the hotel during the day and cab... more

Pachamama is fabulous. Location is amazing. 3 minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen. No crowds, no hotels. Casita is charming. Awaken to Howler monkeys and jungle sounds. Saw better wildlife from porch of Casita than anywhere (white faced and howler monkeys, sloth, Toucan, hummingbirds, lizards and let's not overlook the resident kitty cat!). As... more
