beautiful hotel right on the beach. We came for our wedding and rented all cabins for our family. It was perfect. Everyone had their own private getaway. The gardens are gorgeous. The beach is idyllic. Selvins next door has great food. We all rented bicycles to go into town.

Our family stayed at Casa Viva for a week over the 2014 Christmas holiday. We specifically booked here because of our wonderful past stays. We had House #1, closest to the sea. The waves, the birds, the howlers all make the experience so fabulous. There is a resident sloth in a tree on the path to the beach and the... More

I came with a friend for my 30th birthday. We had a cottage very close to the beach, so that at night when it's quiet, all we heard were the waves crashing. They sounded so close to us in the near-darkness! The beach was OK - a smallish crescent of sand, but it was very secluded so it was nice... More

It's literally as far down South as you can go on the costarican Caribbean coast, will take you 4 hours by car from SJO, but it is worth every single minute. Once you're there you are surrounded by relaxed, easy-going people, everybody's cool, probably very much into yoga, slow food, going grassroots etc. Haven't seen that many people biking around... Idyllic location, friendly helpful staff, wonderfully personable and accommodating owner. This area offers the perfect combination of solitude (when desired), natural beauty and wildlife, and excellent restaurants.

This was are 3rd. trip to Costa Rica and our 2nd. time staying at Casa Viva. We've seen more animals here than we have any where else, and we've been to Arenal,Montevrde,Manuel Antonio and Montezuma. Beautiful houses, wonderful staff and so close to the ocean. Jean was a great host and we had the best time staying here! And Marieh907,... More

Our family spent a week at Casa Viva and a wonderful time. The handcrafted houses are placed strategically among beautiful gardens, which gives you a little privacy. Our house had a queen bed and two singles and was furthest from the beach, but we could still hear the waves and feel the lovely ocean breeze. The wrap-around porch with hammocks... More

Spent two weeks at Cas Viva, Punta Uva, Costa Rica from November 1 through 15, 2013. A wonderful setting. The owner/operator, Jeanie, was a princess. Her helpers, Francisco and Marleni are warm and friendly. Francisco would bring us fresh fruit often. The beach is very close and gorgeous. Selvin's and El Refugio are two nearby restaurants that are absolutely fantastic.There's... More

Just returned from our first ever trip to Costa Rica, where I had debated where to stay on the Caribbean coast for a long time. In the end, I chose Casa Viva over other rental homes because I liked the location (good swimming beach - not too rough) and it was secluded but safer than a house all on its... More

My husband Tom and I spent three weeks at Casa Viva. We stayed in the duplex which was perfect for us. The duplex was lovely and closest to the beach. We could hear the sounds of the waves day and night, a short stroll to the beach with warm/ calm water wonderful for swimming. It was fun getting up in... More
