Beautiful grounds. Stayed in bungalow which was roomy, clean, comfortable and had AC and TV. Grounds and pool with bar are great with beautiful plants and animals in the trees. Breakfast was great. Did not try on site restaurants, but looked expensive. Beach across the street was clean and safe with a life guard. Did not find any debris on... More

We had two nights here during our tour of Costa Rica. We wish we could have stayed longer! It is about a 25 minute walk from the local town, Puerto Viejo but this was not a problem as we ate at the hotel restaurant on both nights and visited the town during the day. The food is very good and... More

We recently stayed at Cariblue for 4 nights. The best 2 things about this hotel are the grounds and the food and beverage manager, Oscar. He made us feel very welcome and his happy attitude made the stay much better. The lush vegetation does give the feel of a jungle resort, with a decent sized pool and pool bar. The... More

Ok, I'm not going to lie to you... we (my two friends and I) did not stay in this hotel. BUT... it's amazing and you should go there. We stayed at the resort next door and were told by a friend (who had stayed there previously) that they have a SWEET little pool with a swim up bar. So we... More

We have recently spent two weeks at Cariblue, Costa Rica and were very pleased. Our room was one of the more economical ones but it was clean and pleasant. The grounds are attractive and well-kept and they have nice pool with swim up bar. The restaurant, Sole Lune, is very attractive and the breakfast buffet quite good. The new food... More

We spent three nights at Cariblue in March. Overall I would say the rooms are overpriced for the quality and the amenities, especially for the "beachfront" rooms which have a busy road between your room and the beach with marginal security. If you don't rent a bike you will have to take cabs into Puerto Viejo for restaurants etc. On... More

We started the stay by being told that the room we reserved wasn't available. The hotel couldn't provide any special accommodations or recompense but was very sorry. The bathrooms smelled very horrible. There was a constant smell coming from the plumbing. We had to make sure the bathroom door stayed closed every night. The issues were not just in our... More

We checked in on the first of March and checked out on the fifteenth. We stayed in a Jungle casita 211 and loved it except for the "Ultra firm" bed. The grounds were beautiful and full of local flora and fauna. The beach is just across the road and it's a must to spend at least a day playing in... More

The Cariblue was a great place to stay in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. It is a little out of town, has good security, a nice pool with a swim-up bar, and a restaurant and beach bar. Our bartender at the swim-up bar was Oscar and he was wonderful - ask about his Dirty Monkey drink - it's yummy! The rooms... More
