Just thinking about our stay there in September '07 brings tears to my eyes!! It is not that close to Puerto Viejo but is close to some very nice restaurants and a couple of little general stores. We stayed at the Shawandha Lodge for 4 nights and very much enjoyed it. The setting in the jungle is beautiful. The rooms are spot-less and the bathroom very spacious and very nicely tiled. The cabins are nice, the setting is beautiful, the beach is lovely, the food is good, service is just fine, etc. However, there are nicer lodgings in the area for the same price (Almonds and Corals for example) and the food is more expensive than it is worth as well.
