A terrific place to start our first trip to Costa Rica. Great location - a short walk to the beach with casitas in a jungle setting so you awake to the joyful noise of birds, monkeys and other critters. The staff was incredibly helpful, warm, knowledgeable about the best tours and tour guides and generally made us feel totally at... More

We had a wonderful one week stay at Hotel La Costa de Papito. The front desk staff was ready for us upon our arrival. We stayed in Jungalow (Our Name) #10. It is the farthest and most remote location on the property. We had a baby sloth living in the tree next to us the entire time of our stay.... More

We stayed at La Costa de Papito for the first two nights on our trip to Costa Rica. The east coast of Costa Rica is like going back 30 years in time. The cabanas are clean and neat, the staff was helpful and a tribute to the people of Costa Rica. The food was very good and I highly recommend... More

This hotel is our only place in Puerto Viejo to stay and after three visits, we decided to let La Costa de Papito arrange our wedding on Tuesday of this week. The owner and staff did arranged everything from the photographer to a wedding cake and beach decorations to make this a destination wedding to die for...and we couldn´t be... More

Location south of PV is great. Easy walk to beautiful beach, easy walk to town restaurants etc. great helpful staff. We stayed in economy room which was a great value. Yes, you hear and smell the kitchen in the evening but the jungle setting and charming outside area was great. Far from road, lots of monkeys critters birds frogs etc.... More

We had a great time in Costa de Papito! The hotel is not directly in the center of Puerto Viejo, so it's very quiet. Not bad having a car, to be flexible. Otherwise there is a wonderful beach-rainforrest-trail you should walk at least once! Our bungalow was huge and we slept very comfortable. We really loved the style of the... More

The kids, ages eight and nine, said that La Costa de Papito was their favorite hotel... Ever! We had a spacious jungle cabana with beautiful mosquito netting, and a really cool jungle vibe. But, the mattresses were like you would expect in a "cabin" (not a hotel) and the sheets were a thin poor quality that wouldn't stay on the... More

Thank you to the kids for an excellent review. There certainly are insects in the jungle and you may get a visit from them while you are here but surely if you don’t like “bugs” then it could seem like there are lots of them even if there are only a few? The new sheets we bought were overly expensive... More

Had a really nice time here! 6 nights. Wonderful place and lovely staff! The food and drinks was good and you have all you need. Other wise they help you. Minerba was one of the staff we met and she really made it feel like hope with her smile! Thanks!

We had a great time at La Costa de Papito. The owners were great in teaching my oldest to surf and one of my daughters how to perform on the aerial silks. The location was great and our room was perfect for our group.

The accomodations were great, as was the breakfast! We were greated with a refreshing drink, which was perfect after our long drive in. We loved the attached porch with hammock and chairs. Minerva was extremely nice and helpful in helping us decide what activities to do. The mattress was not very comfortable for our four nights there and we did... More

We are so pleased that this family enjoyed their stay with us .Apologies for not having our truly delicious hamburgers available for the 3 kids at lunch time .Kids aren’t interested in trying new dishes and because I have 3 kids I know that familiar food always saves the day. We didn’t get the delivery from the butcher because of... More
