I absolutely loved staying here! Yes, it is a 5-hour drive from the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose, but it is sooo worth it! First of all, we hired a private driver to take us down to the coast. The drive, itself, is beautiful -- going on narrow mountainous roads through the rainforests was breathtaking. Once we got... This was our second trip to this location, with friends that also visited before. This time we had the chance to stay in Bungalow 10. The bathroom is set between the 2 bedrooms on either side. The one drawback is that you have to step outside to enter into the bathroom, since there is not a door from either of... More

Stayed in the budget cabin, which was wonderful. Very clean, we had everything we needed and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that the wifi was very slow and sometimes nonexistent in the room, but it was available elsewhere in the hotel and it was nice to not use electronics for a while! The... Thanks so much for this lovely review. The lightning storm disconfigured 2 of the 8 routes we to provide internet everywhere in every bungalow. Apologies for this and thanks for being good sports. More

My husband and adult daughter and I had a very enjoyable stay here. Easy access to beach and town. No high pressure. Just laid back. The staff was awesome and very accommodating. We can't say enough about it.

My sister and I travelled through Costa Rica in May and we stayed at La Costa de Papito for 3 days and we loved it. We ate there every day and found the food and service great. We stayed in a bungalow near the main building and appreciated it. It is very quiet and clean and the personnel is outstanding... More

This was our first stay in Costa Rica and we had no idea what to expect in terms of lodging. We were pleasantly surprised these charming little bungalows for our first hotel. The hotel is well run and has excellent, caring staff. Definitely felt like everyone wanted us to really enjoy ourselves. For a hotel breakfast buffet, the food was... More

I just got back home (Boston, MA. USA) from my trip to Costa Rica and Costa De Papito was my first destination during my trip. It was not my first time traveling to Costa Rica, but it was my first time traveling to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. My dad is Costa Rican, therefore, I have a lot of family members... More
