I was at the Samasati Nature Retreat in January of 2015 doing my Yoga teacher training. It was exactly what I needed, a trip in the jungle, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Before I get started what you have to know is this is a nature retreat, for those who want to be in jungle away... More

Dear Carolyn, Thank you for providing your helpful review of Samasati. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience on site and in the pristine environment of the rainforest. It's definitely a departure from city life and the eco-lodge bungalows with hot water indoor full bathrooms will being seeing more upgrades as the year continues. Stay tuned via our... More

A wonderful week with a group from the New York area. It was a trip put together with Artists from the North East and we took classes each day with two instructors from the New York Area. Samasati provided a perfect setting for us -- and all was first rate. I stayed in one of the Casitas and thought it... More

Dear Pat, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, the art retreat, the monkeys and hammock time. We are hosting a Yoga & Mandala Art Retreat in April and thought you'd like to know. The rainforest is a beautiful setting for creating art as you know and... More

An in depth review of Samasati. We paid $147 a night with no package. My boyfriend and I stayed for 5 nights. The rooms: we were not in a bungalow, but rather, in rooms connected to one another with a shared bathrooms. I figured this would be much like the many hostels I have stayed in; however, the floors squeak... More

Thank you for sharing your experience. As we are new owners of Samasati, this review is helpful to us. We are committed to improving the guest experience every step of the way. We agree, the Guest House Bungalow is not to same as the very nice Casitas you viewed. Currently, we are renovating the Guest House, which will be a... More

We travelled from the snowy lands of central Alberta Canada to enjoy a wonderful rainforest experience at Samasati. We were not disappointed. The staff were tremendously friendly and accommodating. They responded to any of our requests with speed and good humour. We truly enjoyed the community atmosphere they promoted at meal time. Speaking of which, the meals were fabulous. It... More

Samasati is under new ownership with a stunning focus on a most welcoming, nurturing, supportive environment. I have never felt so looked after by a wonderful collection of staff, both old and new, and never felt so at home and at peace with myself as at this lovely place in its fabulous rain forest setting. Highlights included the gorgeous way... More

Need I go on? Our stay at Samasati was the ultimate health and well-being experience. We were greeted by the friendliest, happiest receptionist I've ever had the pleasure to speak with and were immersed in the jungle with glorious views over the Caribbean sea and Puerto Viejo town. The cabin was wonderful and we were very fortunate to have a... More

We have stayed twice at Samasati and both times were very wonderful. Silvia and the staff were awesome hosts. Totally enjoyed the place and will be back! The view was wonderful and the food was well prepared. Will always remember and look forward to my morning coffee at sunrise looking out at the Caribbean.

After I returned from Samasati Nature Retreat, everyone I've told about the trip wants to go, or wishes they could go. I went there for a seven day yoga retreat (ended up staying ten days). There was no internet, no television, no phone, yoga twice a day, vegetarian food grown on property, and hiking trails through the rainforest that I... More

Have stayed at Samasati twice and my whole family loved it. Will definitely be back. It feels like our home away from home. You can't get any closer to the rainforest than this. Be aware this is a nature retreat, NOT a resort. Come here if you want to unplug, enjoy the surroundings, relax, and explore the rainforest, not if... More
