We booked a stay for five days. We enjoyed the rooms and the fact that you are in the jungle with only a few minutes ride to the beach. We rented a 4x4 to get around. The rooms were simple and great to get away from a busy schedule. The breakfast that is offered is great and the view is... More

Ok folks, let me give you the rundown: if you are in search of a magical place, located amidst a primary Rainforest, where in a one and a half hour walk along the property you can see more wikdlife than any Rainforest (monteverde, Gandoca, Cahuita, Manuel Antonio, Peninsula Osa, you name it, this place is it. It is quiet of... More

I returned for my second time to Samasati just 6 months after my first stay there. I can't say enough about this place. Its seclusion away from the busyness of the world, just being amoungst and one with nature is incredibly healing, humbling and relaxing. Being a solo, young female traveler I feel incredibly safe at the resort. The individual... More

I would recommend Samasati to anyone who wants an extraordinary adventure in nature. After traveling to over 140 countries, Samasati is the only place I want to return...again and again!! Sleeping in the bungalows overlooking the Caribbean, waking up to the sound of howler monkeys, eating incredible vegetarian food, and participating in activities from yoga to zip lining. Our foundation,... More

This trip was a personal retreat for me for healing and sanctuary. The staff were and are fantastic- very friendly with concern for your welfare. Fantastic communication and flexibility in arranging this from the start with Liseth. This is the rainforest and I went during the rainy season so there was lots of rain. My stay at the Samasati was absolutely phenomenal. Every staff member I met was helpful, courteous, and went above and beyond for every guest. The food was exceptional - I give props to Don Carlos who prepared the world's most delicious meals. Truly outstanding! And, finally, the rooms and views...they are simple, safe, comfortable, and remind you of the mantra... More

I stayed here for 3 weeks and I was very impressed by this eco-resort. Lets start with the good. Included in my stay was 3 vegetarian meals a day. Not once was I disappointed in what was cooked, and we hardly had a repeat. The things that were repeated were requested because they were a group favorite. The rooms were... More

Samasati is a lovely nature retreat located 10 minutes from Puerto Viejo and the Caribbean Sea, and about a 5 hour journey via Interbus shuttle from San Jose airport. The drive winds through mountains and is scenic. The second you arrive at the retreat, located 1.5km up a mountain, you instantly feel relaxed and at home as the friendly staff... More
