We booked this even after reading the reviews on trip advisor...and to be fair I think the other reviews have been more than generous....yes the location is good, if you want to be right on the beach and miles from town. Although the draw back is there isn't much nearby and there is little choice in the way of decent... More

The Camarona has one of the best locations in Cocles, but seems to have stopped in time because they realize that the facilities and rooms are in need of reform, a place with beautiful nature there would need an investment in its infrastructure. The people working are kind and thoughtful, if they can transform perception Camarona a great place to... More

This was my second time in this hotel, some say human is the only ˜animal˜ that makes a mistake the same way twice. I agree. Last time we were on an old room but we thought there were better and newer ones, wrong. All rooms are old as when Cristobal Colon arrived. The painting is simply awful, white old filthy... More

We recommed the Camarona Caribbean Lodge for a wonderful time. The hotel has a full service restaurant and bar, weekend live music and water sports. There are beach volleyball courts and bicycles for rent Beautiful ocean views from our room and the hotel grounds are natural rainforest providing a very peaceful stay. We winter in Cocles just a little way from Camarona Caribbean Lodge. While we have never stayed here, we make it our local bar, going for a cervaza and nachos every few days. Very friendly staff. We also swim off of their beach. Just a lovely place to visit. We have also had dinner in the open air restaurant. Very... More

If you've been to Puerto Viejo then you know its a party town and accommodations are mostly basic, run down hostels without A/C. Its very humid in Puerto Viejo so paying a little more for A/C is well worth it. This hotel is less like a hotel and more like luxury cabins on the beach. The rooms are all wood... More

Awesome hotel with a resort feel. Very welcoming upon arrival...coconut refreshing juice on ice when we checked in. Rooms were fine, nothing fancy, but one of the nicer bathrooms on our trip. Rooms had fans and safes as well. The onsite restaurant was great for breakfast (included) and the bar was fun for pre-dinner drinks. The proximity to the beach... More

We arrived in Puerto Viejo late as we go stuck in traffic in San Jose. It was dark and we had tried to get into a few other Hotels but they were all fully booked. In the dark with the lights this place looked ok and we were gratefull that they had a room after a long 12 hour drive... More

Maybe one can't expect much from a so-called budget hotel but this place had a lot going against it: a general run down condition, no hot water to the bath basin, no curtains on the windows (the bathroom window didn't even have glass, only thin screening and a shutter that did not close and lock - anyone could come by,...
