Staff is very helpful. - Hotel seems a bit rundown. But the rooms are spic and span clean (room 145). The images are a bit deceiving but I enjoyed my 1 night there. you can park your car there even after checking out. Breakfast is a catastrophy: Toaster takes 20 minutes to grill a sandwich :D. Food seems unhygienic. The... More

My wife and I travel to Limon from our home in Puerto Viejo about once a month, and until recently we were disappointed in our dining options. To be honest, Limon isn't a very scenic place. Then in March we decided to drive up the coastal road north of town to see what we could find. We came upon the... More

-unwelcoming staff -dirty rooms -expensive restaurant, bad food -bad customer service -noisy AC, poor water pressure no hot water room 158 -no remote control for the tv. This place is one of the worst hotels in town. Don't let the pictures from the website deceive you

I have traveled around the world and have stayed at hotels that cover the spectrum of quality. I can say this hotel nears the bottom of the list. From the moment we arrived we felt unwelcome by the staff who acted as though we were such a bother to them that they could not even offer up a smile during... More

Travelling with a group of in total 12 people we had lunch at this place. At the time we were there we were the only guests for lunch. It was supposed to be a buffet lunch. It was obviously specially made for us. We had the choice of one piece of meat (chicken of course), nicely counted out for 12... More

The hotel is okay, rooms were clean, housekeeping staff was very responsive and the pool area was expansive. The hotel/restaurant has a beautiful beach view, but be forewarned there is no beach access and it's not that close to Playa Bonita (despite what the lonely planet may lead you to believe). Unfortunately, I was not overly impressed with the hotel... More

If it looks like a chicken and clucks like a chicken, it's probably a chicken. I can't say I stayed here. I can say that just as I was about to check it, we asked to see the room. Upon opening the door, the bed had mismatched sheets, the TV was huge (and not in a 42" flat-screen kinda way)... More

The Maribu Caribe Hotel is situated high on a hill overlooking the Caribbean sea, a few kilometers north of Puerto Limon. Once past the rather handsome reception area, you get a full view of the well manicured grounds which are extensive and quite impressive, as are the swimming pool, the pool-side bar, the restaurant and the the thatched-roofed bedroom units... We stayed at this hotel while on a trip to Puerto Viejo. We had to stop due to the terrible weather and were directed there by a friendly cab driver. The hotel actually looks quite nice from the outside with some very pretty palm roofs and white round buildings. The restaurant has a nice view to the ocean and the... More

This is a decent place to stay. The rooms are ok, beds a little hard and you get a little tube television. Personally the TV didn't matter to me because I was out at the pool or beach most of the time. The beach is about a 5 minute taxi ride. The breakfast is complimentary but it mostly just consist...
