Quiet and nice small hotel located 10 min drive from Pto Limon. Picterous and romantic view, real Caribbean. The roofed terrace with comfortable chairs is perfect to seat and relax and listen to the sea waves in a dark tropical night. The beach with palm trees is just a couple of dozens of meters away from the rooms. The restaurant... More

Thanks for your kind review! I see that you are from Russia. I hope to travel there someday and hope I enjoy it as much as you enjoyed our little piece of paradise. I will be sure to pass your review on to the staff at the hotel and hope you can come back sometime in the future. Michael More

Limon is a crowded, smelly city so if you are passing through like we were, this is a good place to stay overnight. Rooms were clean, water was hot, AC was working and most of all the staff is incredibly kind! Breakfast is included and you can walk straight out to the beach from the hotel restaurant. There are no... More

Good review. The Caribbean side of Costa Rica is truly a lot different than the Pacific side. Not as many amenities, but it is truly what you want to see when traveling to a foreign country. I don't think you went there just to see if the McDonald's is different than back home, right LOL? On the Caribbean side you... More

Wow. What a great hotel. I only got to spend one night at Playa Westfalia, but wish it could have been more! The hotel is just south of the airport and Puerto Limon. You could easily miss it, as we did, as the entrance and sign are obscured by the tree growth along the road. The parking lot is staffed... More

Spent 2 nights in the spacious first floor suite of this nice and clean beach hotel- overlooking the pool. Although close to main street down to Cahuita it´s quiet and peaceful with quite a lot of birds in the garden. Terrace in front of room is roofed- quite important, as we had a lot of rain ;-). Excellent breakfasts and... More

The hotel is located very far away of anything (which is not bad if you are looking for a place like this). The employees where very kind and helpful, but the hotel facilities were not as good, the room lights had a weird color, very very strong musty smell, even the bed sheets felt like moist, the bed was terrible,... I am so sorry you did not enjoy yourself. As for the musty smell, was the air-conditioner working properly? Sometimes people turn it off while they are there so they can acclimate to the heat, but that is not the thing to do as the humidity gets into the room then which can cause the musty smell. If you can... More

I stayed at this hotel in October 2013 on a trip with 3 girlfriends. The service was perfect. We were a 10 min drive from downtown Limon but away from the chaos of the city! And about a 35-45 min drive from Cahuita. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and well air conditioned. Very clean. The pool is nice and the... More

Diana was helpful as was the entire staff. They went out there way to help us. The breakfast was good. Felt very safe. Master suite was wonderful. Pool clean. It is away from everything if you like that. We also went to Limón with no problems. No complaints.

Thank you for the great review. Actually, the being far from everything is exactly why we built there. Of course also in hopes that the airport would bring the little airplanes over from San Jose, LOL! I hope you can come back again and had a great time in Costa Rica More

Hotels in and around Puerto Limon are basic and rather grim. It's worth driving a few kilometers south to Hotel Playa Westfalia. The 2-story, motel-style design is nothing fancy, but the staff is friendly and efficient, gardens are pleasantly designed, and rooms are large and well-maintained with reliable hot water, air conditioning and ceiling fans. My standard room even had... More

Hotel Playa Westfalia was the perfect way to end our vacation in Costa Rica this year- we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful resort for two nights this past March. We stayed again in the 2nd floor Master Suite, which is amazing! Very spacious, and the balcony overlooking the pool area is so nice. We walked along the beach each morning... More

We stayed with friends for a weekend at the beach. What a pleasant surprise! Very clean hotel, nice accommodations on the beach. Very pleasant staff and a typical Costa Rican fare restaurant. The surf is a fun beach break with punchy waves. The beach is very natural and undeveloped. We will return soon.
