Unfortunately, Bungalow Aché hasn't been the paradise that we have imagined. The room was pretty dirty, dusty and full of mosquitos, other little insects ,and geckos. Of course, we were in the middle of the forest, but we haven't found others accommodations as dirty as Bungalow Ache' in our vacation! Besides the place, the owner hasn't been really friendly with us.... More

Me and my boyfriend and my parents stayed at the bungalows for 5 days and it was a wonderful experience! The owners are friendly and informative, it's next to Cahuita National Park and an amazing white sand beach. The village has a nice relaxed vibe. We saw baby Capuchin monkeys playing in front of our bungalow, not to mention the... More

This place is close to the national park! We were relaxing on the hamac while watching monkeys, birds and unknown animals visiting the garden! The banglows are very well designed which allow us to keep our intimacy. There is free coffee in the room for breakfast. Be careful about the hot water for shower: if there is no hot water,... More

Beautiful setting. From our bungalow we saw more nature than you'd see in a zoo. Howler monkeys, other kinds of monkeys, and amazing birds. Rustic but clean cabins. Low-key but kind and helpful staff. There are insects and lizards in the room, but they stay on the ceiling.

Our stay was quite unenjoyable, and unless Doris makes some easy, but much needed changes I would not recommend her bungalows to anyone. Lonely Planet's 10th edition (2012) has the bungalows rated as their top choice, and describes them as 'spotless', which they are far, far from. I believe Doris is resting on her laurels. We were in the middle... More

This was the first place my husband and I stayed at in Costa Rica and it set our standards high for the duration of our South American adventure. We arrived very late at night and the owner gave us the key and lead us straight to our rooms, happy to sort out all the administration details the next day (which... More

These bungalows are, as per my title, absolutely charming. They are sweet octagonally shaped little wooden lodges right on the edge of the national park and five minutes walk from both the beach and Cahuita town centre. Relaxing on your individual balcony in the hammock or reclining chair for just 5 minutes, you'll soon spot the crabs in the ground,... More
