We stayed with our two children 15-18 for four days, in the house of the hotel. The garden is amazing and we had a very special dinner cooked for us by the french owner. She arranged for my sons surf, snorkling and horse riding on the beach. We asked at what time the swiming pool was closed, and she said... more

My husband and I stayed at El Encanto for a few days during our honeymoon and even decided to extend our time in Cahuita to take advantage of this place even longer! From the moment you enter the secure gate, you are met with lush green landscaping and can easily relax in the hammock on your private patio, listening to... more

We recently stayed at El Encanto in Cahuita. It is the most charming bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. When you walk through the front gate, you feel like you've just stepped into paradise. The grounds are beautiful with exotic flowers and trees. The on-site pool and bungalows are just what you need after a day at the... more

We stayed here and also at Playa Negra Guesthouse, because we hadn't booked in advance and hence there wasn't room for us the whole week. Both places are lovely, but Playa Negra outbeats El Encanto. The reason: Much more value for your money. At PN we got a whole house, with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and a spacios bathroom, as well... more

Comfortable but very laid back and not all the modern conveniences. TV was in the dining room. Tap water not potable but bottled water available. Nice shower/bath in room. Sign in bathroom asked that TP not be flushed. No soundproofing but no noisy neighbors when I was there. You can hear the birds chirp. Lush setting. "Downtown" Cahuita is a... more

My husband and I stayed our last two nights in El Encanto B&B, in the small quaint Caribbean village of Cahuita. The hotel is idyllic for those who love being by the sea, and although 5 minutes from the village happenings-this hotel offered quiet and serenity. The landscape was beautiful and photos really don't do justice to the Eden-like atmosphere.... more

My overall experience I must say with this hotel was great until they left a bad taste in my mouth right at the end. The grounds of this hotel is amazing. There are poison dart frogs and colorful lizards around every corner of this oaisis. They hang bird cages in the trees during the day and the sounds in the... more

Having spent a month travelling the length and breadth of Costa Rica staying in guest houses of various categories, we decided to spend our last 3 days on the Caribbean coast at Cahuita and the description of El Encanto on the Internet sounded just what we wanted. The garden is indeed charming and bird life abundant, and the eating area... more

The hotel was excellent. It was cozy and inviting. I stayed for 3 nights in March and enjoyed every minute. It was safe and a private little getaway. It is steps from one of the many black beaches in Costa Rica and you feel like you are on your own private beach. There is breakfast served every morning and the... more
