The Magellan Inn was really a terrific place to stay. I wanted to stay in a small, simple hotel, with great easy-going staff, delicious food, and lots of horse riding on the beach. I got everything I was looking for and more during my stay at the Magellan Inn. I happened to be traveling alone this trip for my own... More

Everything was perfect...when we arrived a nice lady welcomed us and made sure that we were happy...the rooms are ok but there was a lot of humidity...the hotel is out of town so it is good if you want some silence...be careful though because it is surrounded by the forest...our friends the Mosquitos are more than happy to play with... Charming hotel located only minutes from the beach and the center of Cahuita. The garden is very green and well kept with a nice looking pool. The rooms were nicely furnished and mostly clean (stains on the bedsheets) except for the bathroom which was the bare minimum (shower-head in a very bad state in room 1). The dogs were friendly... While this place was probably wonderful in its early years, it is now showing obvious signs of deterioration. The room was okay, the bathroom was missing or had broken fixtures, the patio furniture was old and worn and in need of new coverings, the towels were horrid, and the bedding was thin and worn. If you don't mind wet dogs... More

Sadly I wished these people had said something to me about their grievances . Our hotel is hardly deteriorating, that is quite the insult. I believe there are many reviews here also saying how wonderful and comfortable the beds are, one even said the best in Costa Rica, they had ever slept in! We have special mattress with a top... I can not say enough good things about my visit. The staff, owner and critters of all sorts were extremely welcoming. I opted for no air conditioning room which was beautiful, clean and allowed me to hear the ocean ( if room doors to private patio were open ) & the numerous lovely sounds of nature. The beach is a... This was our first horseback riding vacation and it exceeded all our expectations! We enjoyed the accommodations--just six guest rooms, and the gourmet food. We loved the fact that every day was planned for us, from riding on the beach and jungle, to snorkeling, to hiking with a guide in the national park, to a visit to the sloth sanctuary.... More

My friend and I stayed at the Magellan Inn for a week. The room was spacious and scrupulously clean. Terry, the owner, is friendly and helpful who runs a very professional operation. The grounds are groomed every day and the staff is helpful and efficient. The fresh rolls and fruit for breakfast make a great start to the day. We... More

Hotel Magellan Inn is a delightful little spot to stay in Cahuita. It's in easy walking distance of beauiful, undeveloped beaches, and decent walking distance from the town of Cahuita and the park there that follows the coast just past the town. Terry is an excellent host who will arrange any number of outings (surfing lessons, snorkeling, tours, yoga, etc.)... More

I have stayed several times at the Magellan Inn in Cahuita, owned and operated by Terry LIllian Newton. She runs a wonderful B&B. THe rooms are spacious, clean, and well appointed. THe gardens and pool of the hotel are beautiful. I highly recommend this B&B

Bravo Terry and crew. Away from the main road enough to feel a part of nature, yet close enough to get to all of the local attractions. Ride horses for miles on the beach - they live right on the property! Terry will arrange wildlife, beach, horse, chocolate tours and more... Cahuita is on the Caribbean side, but only a... More
