I completely agree with the prior reviewer. This hotel/b&b has appeared in the Costa Rica guidebook, which by itself gives it traffic. We spent three nights at the Magellan Inn in late December. While we would agree that the gardens and landscaping are beautiful and peaceful, there are some drawbacks including: price (not good value for $); mildewey carpets in the room; very cool reception from the manager; and location (it's more than a walk into town). more

For the second time this year, I spent the week-end at the Magellan Inn, I really can't get enough of this wonderful place. The peaceful gardens are the best. My kid had a great time with the owner's animals : dog, parrots, rabbit and horses, he could even feed the parrots with his hands and was so happy about that.... more
