We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Magellan as it suited our style of travel well. The town of Cahuita is a 2-3 km. walk from the Inn which we enjoyed walking each of the five days of our stay. We began each day with a light breakfast (included) before setting off on each new adventure. The owner, Terry, and... More

What a quaint and lovely boutique hotel! I came here for a yoga teacher training retreat, staying for 3 weeks. I loved the atmosphere! It felt like a true oasis apart from reality and the craziness of life. I enjoyed my stay very much!

Loved my stay at Magellan Inn. Terry, the owner, was personally involved in making sure all of my needs were taken care of. The property was absolutely beautiful and was minutes to walk to an amazing beach you could have often to yourself. The property had a great pool, outdoor yoga platform, and hammocks for every porch. The staff was... More

Spent 2 nights here and was very diss appointed. The room were ok and the pool small and cold. Both breakfasts were fruit and a non description bun. No proteins of any type. Beer was available but over priced and I was charged an extra night when I booked on line. I was reimbursed when I left but was not... More

Over the years I have been told by our guests that the photos on the website do not do it justice, that it is even more beautiful than they imagined. But everyone has different views in life of course. A Continental breakfast is included in the room price, which offers fresh white and whole wheat bread rolls made by an... More

It was ok but I didnt think it was worth what we paid ($125 for night). Room was poorly equipped. There was a lot of empty spaces where should be fridge, maybe some utensils since we had coffee...There was coffee machine and nice coffee to it. Bed was very comfortable and large and air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was small... More

The price was only $125 per night during Peak Season, Christmas and New Years, as in other hotels and this was for the room with a/c, fridge and satellite tv. If you had only a room with a/c and were only 2 people, you could not have paid $125. You might havd had a triple room, or a double room... More

This hotel is small with six rooms, has a yoga studio, wildlife, the beach a few minutes away, but is a ways out of town and requires a taxi or some transportation to get into town. The staff lined us up with a driver for our two nights there to take us into town for dinner, and then into Puerto... More

We stayed here for a few days with our two kids. It was quiet and peaceful, with a nice pool. I don't think it's entirely ideal for families; we had a king-sized bed, a cot, and a small mattress on the floor. There were two dogs that barked ferociously every time anyone arrived from outside, or left their room during... More

My room and porch were lovely, quiet and peaceful. The staff were like family. If you want just a great B&B for a few days with unstructured pleasure, I would recommend Magellan. Or, if you want structure, Terry Newton will arrange a program with extraordinary detail and care to its execution. I was completely thrilled.

I stayed at Hotel Magellan for one month during an on-site Yoga Teacher Training and I couldn't have asked for a lovelier location: the grounds are lush and peaceful, the yoga pavilion is beautiful and the pool was well cared-for and didn't use way too much chlorine like most hotel pools do. The hotel is within walking distance of several... More

Stayed at the Inn and had a wonderful time with the friendly owner and staff. Loved their stable off horses too. I enjoyed the breakfast, the pool, the gardens. There are lots of activities available to do, such as snorkelling, nature walks, horse back riding treks. sloth sanctuary, chocolate tour.
