The owner Peck is a very dishonest man who is only concerned about money. I reserved with him for 2 nights the day before my stay during the busy easter week. I paid him in full for the 2 nights at that time and he wrote my no receipt. On the day of my departure he comes to my room... More

We just finished staying in a one bedroom cabina with kitchenette. The owners Luis and Peck Ferguson were very kind and helpful to us. They checked to see if we needed anything everyday. Always with a smile. The room was clean and comfortable. A big bonus was the fact that there was a lot of wildlife to be seen right... More

This is our 4th year back! We can't imagine going anywhere else! We love our cozy little cabinas! Can't wait to get back there this year. The family who owns the Cabinas are remarkable people! They are like family! The wildlife on the property is incredible!

We didn't book anything before arriving in Cahuita with the morning bus from San José, so we stood close to the National Park entrance a little confused with our little map when a nice lady ask if we needed help and showed us these cabinas. They were just perfect with the nice hammocks in front of the rooms. The rooms... More

This time around and travelled with my husband and a 2 year old. We got a room in a cabin that is facing the swamp. It was more like a one-bedroom apartment, than just a hotel room. Very big kitchen/dining area/living room with a nice couch, big bedroom (we even fitted an extra bed for a kid) and a super... More

I liked the laidback vibe of this place, with nice hammocks. The location is very good and quiet, near the park entrance, but not far from the center either. The rooms are big, we had one single and one double bed, with mosquito nets. The mosquito for the single bed was a bit too small so I ended up havind... More

The location is superb: 1 min walk from the National Park entrance, and 1 block away from the main drag - so it's super quiet there. The backyard is adjacent to the creek (swamp), so it's bursting with wildlife: I managed to photograph iguanas, crabs, herons, two different kinds of monkeys without even leaving the hotel grounds. The cabins are... More

We read about Cabinas Riverside on Lonely Planet and picked it from the list because of its proximity to the beach and the national park. Once we were there we fell in love with the flowers and hammocs in front of each room (see attached pic). It really felt like a Carribean paradise for a ridiculously low price (about $10... More
