We were only here for one night on our tour...a great shame. This is a beautiful place with top quality rooms to match. There is so much wildlife within metres of the hotel. You can see a great variety of birds in the trees outside your room, and in the open sided dining room whilst you have a meal. We... More

This lodge is due for renovation and some rethinking. We had the bad luck to have a lot of rain during our stay. Nothing strange in this part of the world. Having a cabin only reachable through the mud is also acceptable if you visit this kind of places. But not having a doormat to get rid of the mud... More

Just around the lodge you can find frogs galore! They maintain ponds and even mist at night to make the frogs happy! After sunset Michalia gave us a night tour to find frogs! She was so knowledgable and found many species! This tour is free but of courses we tipped her for her amazing effort! The gardens offer various ecological... More

Stayed here for two nights on an OAT trip. The room was ok, but the view out the slider was very good. The flowers outside our window attracted many butterflies and hummingbirds. Fun to watch. Also the trails are very good for bird watching early in the morning. We also found a sleeping sloth not far from our room high... More

During our roundtrip in Costa rica we also stayed in Sarapiqui. The room we got from the outside looked nice. However, after staying for one night in the room it became clear that the room requires a lot of maintenance. The airconditioning is broken and makes a lot of noice, the matrasses are old and dirty and sleeping very uncomfortable,... More

This is the second time I visit this hotel. The staff is always very attentive to all my requests. The staff at the restaurant is the best and the food is good. There is a bird feeder in front of the restaurant so you can see lots of birds. This place is excelent for a relaxing vacation. The room was... More

Rooms are great. Lots of birds to watch while eating breakfast from the buffet. Staff in the dining area cannot be beat anywhere! Our waitress was one of the very best ever! Overall just a very nice place to stay. The whole experience was very nice for us. We hope to go back soon!

Our group consisted of a 9 yr old, her mother and grandmother. We all give this lodge two thumbs up. We stayed here so we didn't have to stay in San Jose on the night before a flight. It was a 2 hr bus ride from the nearby bus terminal to the terminal in San Jose. Sarapiqui didn't seem to... More

Beautiful setting, surrounded by lush forest, with a small caiman pool and a frog reserve. The grounds are very well maintained, the rooms being dispersed throughout. Small clean pool. Our rooms were OK, with air-con, but nothing to get excited about. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet (CR style) and evening meals were fine. Try to pick a... More

When traveling to other countries, we have to remember that US standards are very different. In my travels, I stayed at five different hotels in various parts of Costa Rica.   The setting of this hotel is absolutely beautiful. Each room is in a jungle-like setting. Bring a flashlight to find your room because it is impossible to see well... More
