Just spent two nights at Adventure Inn about 10-15 minutes from airport. Small hotel (34 rooms) but cavernous inside! Reception open 24 hours and staff very well versed in English. Rooms are big (by American hotel standards) and very clean. Fan-AC keeps things cool. TV available. Shower is big and deep but getting in might be a struggle for older... More

We were in Costa Rica for a mission trip at a school for special needs children. We stayed at Adventure Inn for 8 days. The staff were amazing, accommodating, friendly and attentive. The pool and Jacuzzi were the perfect end to a hard day. The breakfast was a perfect start to our day and the fresh fruit was amazing.

We spent one night here. They first tried to put us in a room on the second floor with a bad air conditioner. We complained and they changed our room and had problems with the air again. I than went down stairs and insisted to speak to the owner who gave me a choice of a few vacant rooms. The... More

Thanks for the review. Because the temperature in the Central Valley is in the mid-70s F, most people do the eco-friendly thing and leave the A/C off to just enjoy the gentle ceiling fan breeze. This guest and his wife arrived in the morning after a red eye flight and we tried to accommodate them immediately. The first room A/C... More

My entire family (8) brought me to Costa Rico for my 75th birthday. We decided to break the trip up due to the flight from Atlanta GA to San Jose, and then a 5 hour trip to Tamarindo. We made reservations for the first and last night in San Jose. This inn was close to the airport, friendly service people,... More

This was perfect for stay. We had some business in the city (Pavas area) which was only a $20 taxi from the hotel. The room and neighborhood is quiet and safe unlike some parts of the capital city. It was close to the airport- free shuttle is provided. We enjoyed the restaurant at the hotel for a couple tasty meals... More

Our family of five stayed here in July, 2015 in the family room. The huge room held 3 queen sized beds. The free breakfast was quite a treat with both American standard items (cereal and milk, eggs) and local fare (fantastic fruits). It was a little noisy in the rooms but we always travel with white noise machine so we... More

We stayed here at start of trip for 2 nights - used as base to go rafting & then onward to other parts of CR. Pros: 1) small hotel & friendly and great price (cash discount) and full American breakfast with good selection included; 2) well kept & room large and good hot water in shower. 3) quiet low key... Thanks for the review. A couple of things I would like to clarify. For the vast majority of tours you are picked up last and dropped off first when staying at Adventure Inn. Only for a few tours on the Caribbean side is this reversed. Also, I have heard many people say that central San Jose is a disappointment; very... More

Some people we met on our first trip to Costa Rica recommended we stay at the Adventure Inn next time we needed a hotel. How thankful we are for that! The wife & I have since used it as our "base camp" on our scouting visits & now that we live here, when departing & returning. We look forward to... More

My husband and I stayed at the Adventure Inn on the front and tail end of our most recent trip to Costa Rica. Leading up to the trip, Eric, the owner, was responsive and helpful via email in booking our stay and sending links to arrange for transportation. When we landed in San Jose, our driver was waiting at the... More
