Very pretty resort. It's away from downtown so you'd have to take a cab or car to see San Jose's sites. Rooms were in line with what you would expect from a Marriott. Our room was a little musty but otherwise we enjoyed our stay. The ham and cheese empanda's from the cafe were awesome. The rep at the tour... more

Architecturally - this is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen. By night, the hotel has a magical quality and the spanish restaurant downstairs is especially charming. Enjoyed the 2 classical guitarists that played and our meal was not bad. The pool was nice, a little small. Overall a nice stay, things were a bit pricey, staff... more

We stayed at the Marriott for two nights just prior to leaving Costa Rica. The front desk was most helpful even arranging connecting rooms for my sister and myself. After a week of enjoying Costa Rica's sights, it was very relaxing to spend the day at the pool enjoying the beautiful grounds. However, the best part of the stay was... more

Excellent property located 20 mins from San Jose. The location is close to the airport and secluded enough for a getaway. The rooms are nice. I stayed here twice, once in an avg room and the next time in a Master Suite. Both rooms were really nice. The beds are comfortable and the baths are some of the best i've... more

Stayed with wife and 11 year old son here, prior to leaving for more adventurous ports of call in Costa Rica. The hotel itself is not in a main area, but that's probably a plus for San Jose, which is not known as the world's safest city. The Spanish colonial architecture was very well done, and the place was cozy... more

OK...some of these reviews are correct. The pool IS cold. This is NOT in an optimal location. However, it is not a bad place. I would say this is perfect for somebody that is doing many excursions or a pre-flight destination. The property is nice. The rooms are slightly aged, but most hotels are. I will say that we used... more

Located right near the airport. Primarily a stopover for using the airport. Majority of guests are from Intel, who has a plant nearby. They even have shuttles running to the plant all day long. Pool was freezing cold. It was unusable. Rooms are small for more than one person. Lots of weddings, banquets, ang meetings for the local elite. There... more

My husband and I loved the hotel from the outside and decided we wanted to get married there. The problems began since we met with the Bridal specialist whom had no interest what so ever in us. We asked her for coffee even and she told us we could go outside and buy it ourselves. We foolishly went through with... more

Stayed at Mariott San Jose the last 2 nights of our trip. Since we had been traveling all around Costa Rica, driving, hiking, etc. we weren't properly dressed for the stuffy business crowd at the hotel. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. Hotel was beautiful. Stayed on top floor and had excellent view. Parking lot was not conveniently located and... more

Since my boyfriend has business in San Jose, I came along for a leisure trip. The Marriott is one of the better hotels in San Jose. The restaurant is decent, the pool is less than impressive and rooms were boring. It seemed a lot like an airport hotel. The concierge was the best I had ever worked with. Each recommendation... more
