I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone! I say the following only because I don't want anyone to have to go through what I went through. The place was dirty, there were scorpions in our apartment, the cat we lived with had bugs on her, the dogs barked all night, the metal roof was very loud in the wind. The... More

We read an amazing review of Debbie King's in a travel book (Open Roads) and so we booked 2 nights at the beginning of our honeymoon and 1 at the end. We arrived after taking a red eye, and Debbie picked us up at the airport (she gave us the wrong directions to get out of the airport). She spent... More

Debbie King is a kind guide and host. She met us at the airport and whisked all of us through the hills of Central Costa Rica. Her Country Inn is tended with care from the interesting local flora to the decorations on the walls. She made us a vegetarian dinner according to our specifications. and delicious breakfast (pinto y gallo... More

After some stress in trying to follow directions, after dark, and communicating with our cab drive, we finally arrived to a warm welcome from Debbie and she whipped up a late evening snack. Accomodations worked and we felt the rate was sufficient for a night's stay, breakfast, and a ride to the airport the next morning. We believe it to... More

We've read the previous reviews and, while we agree with two of the comments (ie. barking dogs, cold water/shower), these situations are not only explainable but understandable in the context of Debbie's situation (ie. Debbie LOVES animals!). For our family of five, these factors were far outweighed by Debbie's presence who went far out of her way to accommodate our... More

Thank you for your otherwise nice review of me and my inn but alas there is a rather important misunderstanding about hot water in the showers and important that I explain,,,We have hot water showers for 17 years and barking dogs" sorry not Mine One night dogs on street barked due to stray dog on street outside of property! which... Have NO doubts about this wonderful place. Debbie King is a professional, kind, and warm hostess who made us feel so welcome. I believe any neg feedback has been done intentionaly as the "guests" were asked to leave as they were vile and unpleasant. still are by leaving nasty comments. I enjoyed our 2 week holiday so much that I will... More

My wife and I stayed at Debbie King's during out trip to Costa Rica as our last stop before returning home. We spent 2 nights with Debbie. The property is set within a beautiful area in the hills above San Jose, and amidst a quiet and serene plantation. Debbie drove out to meet us (we didn't find the place on... More

The reviews we read before we came to Debbie King's Country Inn stated that it was a tranquil setting. If you consider yapping dogs to be a tranquil setting (Debbie has two small house dogs and three outside 'guard dogs' that bark constantly), then you may be comfortable. When we arrived, Debbie told us that her maid had quit, and... More

I had to ask the party of SIX ( who invited 2 more locals at no charge ) to leave my Inn due to their horrendous drunken behaviour. They "took over my Inn " and disturbed my civilized guests by playing loud Hard Rock music , staggering around drunk until 3am each morning , and breaking valuable items in my Inn...
