Such a beautiful, charming atmosphere! It was a bit like walking through the Garden of Eden on the way to our room with lush landscaping, colorful flowers and butterflies! The room was clean and cozy. I don't know where they found their chef but the food and wine were impeccable! Must try the basil mashed potatoes!! What made the food... More

I decided to stay here to get away from the city for a night. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Ernesto and the front office staff. The courtesy and professionalism of the staff was immediately apparent. Due to arriving late we ordered room service. Even though we ordered close to the kitchen closing our food was excellent! I looking forward... More

We were picked up at the airport and wisked away to Tirol. The magical tree lined entry led to a Costa Rican Chalet. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with a real wood fireplace and oversized tub that along with champaign and candles made for an amazing weekend with my girlfriend. The food and ambiance at the restaurant was... More

This is truly unique hotel. I wanted a place that would be indicative of Costa Rica and I wasn't disappointed. The facility is an older hotel that is being updated by a new owner. We stayed in a chalet the first night and had an electric fireplace for heat (at 6,000 feet elevation it can be quite cool and breezy... More

I stayed one night with a friend and two nights by myself as a time to get away and rest. I absolutely could not have chosen a better place! It is so beautiful here with all the tall trees. It almost felt like I was on vacation somewhere in Europe. The rooms are very clean and the grounds are kept... More

The chalets were these really cute little colorful houses with a room on top and one on bottom. The grounds were beautifully kept and had beautiful gardens. The restaurant serves a complementary Costa Rican breakfast that is yummy and dinner was delicious (we all had tenderloins). The only criticism I have is that the ceilings were a little thin so... This was the first stop on our trip to Costa Rica and we were very pleasantly surprised! Following our GPS through the city and up the hill at night, we were sure we were lost, and then, there we were in a tropical Eden. Chalets encircle a beautiful garden amidst the forest. Room was spacious and clean. It was colder... More

The grounds are absolutely beautiful with flowers and fountains and a fantastic view of the volcano and mountains. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. We arrived late at night and it was chilly, but we couldn't light the fire in the fireplace because we had no kindling. It didn't really matter. The beds were super comfy and the shower... More

The grounds are beautiful, the staff was very friendly, but most of all the rooms where clean. Restraunt has a great atmosphere and food was outstanding. I was here for a wedding and wished I would have had mine here. The waterfall was down the road was gorgeous too.

The facilities in general are very nice and charming. The property is well kept and there is a guard at night regulating entrance. However, we had these noteworthy problems: 1. Seems like nobody cleans the Jacuzzi jets. We turned it on and bugs of all sorts spewed into the tub. Reported this to the lady at reception and all she... More
