My bed was covered with live bugs and stains all over the sheets. I was really disgusted and ended up living to another hotel. The paint was peeled of on the bottom on countless places while the surface was covered with dead bugs, leaves, dust, etc. Very depressing!! The pictures are misrepresented. Pool: a swamp. I felt really disgusted. The... More

I stayed 4 days and had a wonderful experience! nice, clean, good breakfast and the staff was very kind, if you need something just ask and they will provide. The owner is a nice lady and the hotel is smokefree, you won't be disturbed by bad smells while eating your food, enjoying the swimming pool or resting in your room.... More

The hotel is run by an obnoxious and nosy old lady who managed to make my life a living hell for the there days my husband and I were at this hotel. Breakfast: "you eat what we give you" is their motto. You sit at a table and the cook/maid brings you what you have to eat (or starve) that... More

Location: difficult to find even for some local taxi drivers or iGO GPS. You can use GPS to get an approximate location and here's the trick: as you go on Autopista General Canas, you have to take an exit towards Double Tree by Hilton hotel (you can set your destination on this hotel, to make sure you take the right... I've been traveling around Costa Rica for the better part of two years, and I just stayed in the nicest hotel in all that time. Clean IS important to me! And, I'm a budget traveler. This place was fantastic. Very friendly staff and proprietor. Best breakfast I've had in a hotel here, also. Hot water. Nice beds. Swimming pool. A/C... More

I really enjoyed my staying in Puerta del Sol. I was there for 8 nights and I have to thank all the staff for their kindness. They were very friendly but also very prepared and helpful. The rooms are very clean and there is lot of space. To comment some reviews I read I had no problems at all with the... More

I booked this hotel because there were good reviews. Oh, was that a mistake. No hot water for 4 days, we could hear every word spoken by other guests in ajoining rooms, and breakfast was badly cooked and often 40 minutes after the 7am breakfast time. The breakfast coffee was some of the worst I have ever tried to drink... More

This hotel is nothing special - rooms are okay (although ours was very dark with one small window into the hall, many others had nice windows). There was only hot water at night - morning showers, even at 7 am, were stone cold. Breakfasts were good and the staff very pleasant and helpful, but the owner and her daughter (?)... More

Have stayed at this hotel while attending a conference down the road. The hotel was full and the hotel hot water system could not accomadate that many people. There was no hot water in the morning for 5 straight days. The rooms are also very noisy and since you are next to the main highway you can hear cars and... More

The Puerto Del Sol was a good fit for our needs. We came in to the main airport at night and were picked up and transported to the hotel by the by the owner. The price was $15 which was probably similiar to or less than a taxi. We left the next morning to take a flight on Nature Air... More
