My husband and I stayed here 5 nights in August in an ocean view upper-level villa. Each villa has two levels with plenty of room to relax downstairs. Our furnishings consisted of a couch, tables and chairs with tasteful, colorful and coordinated pillows and plenty of floor space to move about. The comfortable king size bed was upstairs in the... My husband and I visited Costa Rica with our 19 year old daughter, 18 year old son and his friend. My husband is an avid surfer and has been there several times, but this was mine and my children's first visit. We wanted to stay somewhere surreal to the surroundings and not a big resort. We found the perfect place!... More

Hi, this is Steve from Tamarindo Village: We are very pleased to hear from your review that all our work since becoming the new owners, 4 months ago, has brought this beautiful hotel so much closer to our vision of what it should be. As noted in the review, we have added complete daily breakfasts as part of the room... More

I'm not sure about some of the other reviews on here but this resort/hotel was bought by a new owner 3 months ago. The couple (an American man and Mexican woman) is doing a lot of work on the place. It's apparent that they love Tamarindo and this hotel. We arrived late on a Friday after driving in from San... More

Let me start by saying the place is around one km away from Tamarindo town, which I found difficult to find due to the lack of hotel signs visibility (really small ones) , no big deal. Once there I was received by Patu and Gil, a Belgian lady and her son which I found really nice and pleasant people, since... More

Hello, we're Steve & Martha and we are the new owners of the beautiful Tamarindo Village Hotel. We took over in mid-April and have spent the last couple months making the improvements and corrections and changes that we knew to be necessary to make this hotel the landmark property it was designed to be. The guest's comments are appreciated for... More

I struggled with rating this review. It is somewhere in all honesty between average and poor. The website pictures are definitely professionally done and capture the village in the best way possible. I feel that the pictures are a misrepresentation of the place. When we first arrived, we had come from the Nayara in Arenal, a top notch 5 star... More

As a former guest of this hotel (at about the time of this reviewer's stay), I have to say that the review is fairly written and very constructive. This is how negative reviews should be written. But that was then: over 1 year ago. Today, my wife and I are the new owners of the hotel - since early April,... More

For all purposes dont get influenced by nice pictures and reviews. This place is a scam, the place is 1,2km frmo the beach steap uphill, its dirty, AC dont work regularly, complete bathroom is outdoor together with a million ants and other insiects. Kitchen dirty, missing light bulbs, the "private" jacuzzi is filthy and only response management gave when asked... More

Very relaxing stay after traveling. Very comfortable. Great view with pool. Lush green gardens. Very quiet. Love the Bali style outdoor shower. Close to restuarants and gym. Judy the owner was very helpful with tours or just information.

Excellent location with beautiful landscaped grounds. Nice rooms with a pool. Very quiet but not far from beach but far enough from busy Tamarindo streets. Great place to be active or just to relax and catch up on your reading. Judy Bettinsoli is the owner and will make you feel welcomed and help you enjoy your visit to Costa Rica

Ok - now that we have your attention, PLEASE read the most recent guide books carefully before selecting Playa Tamarindo vs. other pacific coast towns. Mostly geared for spring breakers and surfers, unchecked development, hustlers and urban sprawl have ruined its natural beauty. After an idyllic week-long eco tour throughout the best of CR, this place was a dirty, dusty... More

I appreciate the comments. It's nice to know what we are doing right and absolutely necessary to hear what areas we can improve. If guests are not happy with anything during their stay we hope we are made aware of it immediately.
