I stayed in El Sabanero back in July, and a review is well over due. For starters, Harold was very patient and extremely helpful on the actual way to Guanacaste. We decided not to get a gps (big mistake) but he gave us instructions as best as he could to get us to the lodge- as Costa Rica has not... More

I brought my Yoga school here, Drishti Yoga Teacher Training, and we stayed for 24 nights in March of 2014. We run trainings around the world and require a certain level of ease when it comes to accommodation. El Sabanero's staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They genuinely wanted myself, business partner and 21 students to be happy. They went... More

My family (me, my husband, two pre-teens and mother-in-law) had a great time staying here. We stayed for 6 nights. It is a very relaxed and down to earth place. The pool and deck are are beautiful. The meals are delicious and affordable. The rooms are simple and clean. The grounds are lovely and the staff is super nice. We... More

We stayed for two nights here and wished it could have been more. The cabins are perfect and rustic and spaced well enough apart to feel secluded. Host was amazing and friendly and knew much about the area. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

The location is ok, it could have been closer to the beach. The facilities were clean but simple, no luxury vibes. We were really impressed by the owners' s service: we got meals cooked to orders, great advices regarding the area ....

I really enjoy visiting Costa Rica but most of all our stay at El Sabanero was the best. The staff were helpful and catered too you. The villa were well kept and the atmosphere was tranquil. It was exactly what two New Yorkers needed.

Spent 3 weeks at El Sabanero during March and April 2014. The grounds are beautifully cared for, the pool is refreshing, the cabanas are far enough apart to feel really private. I had a great view of the valley and hills on the other side. Saw monkeys in the trees, beautiful birds, iguanas and bats. The staff is the true... More

Came here with a Yoga group in March 2014. The first thing I noticed was the sparkling pool overlooking the mountains. The bright blue turquoise water literally popped against the backdrop! I couldn't get over the color. To say the staff went above and beyond is a cliche. They were extremely attentive, yet in a natural, authentic way without being... More

Every day was a beautiful one at El Sabanero - all due to the location, the staff and owners (Kurt and Harold). I would highly recommend El Sabenoro - you get to relax, enjoy an amazing calm view, fresh food and go about town (15 minutes away). An eco friendly experience, authentic and serene.Cant wait to go back here! Thank... More
